Wayne pick,
good to hear there were no greater roadside issues. Got me thinking about working so high up. I usually step on top of one of my ammo can tool boxes. I have seen those steps that hook over the tire, and the ones that double as the front plate frame. They may give too much elevation...
I have had the same in-glass antenna on my Chevy C20. The antenna has been good- my guess is a super high tech model- as I am sure they are produced, will get stellar results; but I have been happy with reception in that truck since 74. A modern radio would definitely help as well.
Note- after...
I was able to download a Noise Meter app to my wife's Win7 phone. I ran 16 trials with the stock filter in place and 16 with the X-Stream top in place. The chart shows the crossed out anomalies and the corresponding trial- even though they may have been normal. I did this to eliminate (fairly)...
Last year I was having all these problems with my starter in the Blazer. I tried everything to chase the problem down- including replacing the 6TL batteries. Of course it wasn't the batteries aua.
I have two new Group 31 batteries in place and the 6TL batteries are sitting on a pallet. Is...
I developed a crack in my windshield last week. I have comprehensive that covers the replacement- no deductible :-P.
I wen't online to see what options there were in windows. The ones with the antenna in the glass were the same price from the local shops, so I ordered one up.
Meanwhile, I ran...
Man don't tell me that. I don't want to think about being in water that deep ever. I am not really a 4x4 guy. I use my truck during hunting and fishing season; but I don't go out of my way to temp providence.
If I have to ford a stream of any kind, I guess I can play it safe and cover the top...
Noise... hmmm? I was wondering this myself and got to looking at threads that addressed the under hood noise levels. This one by wallew from 2009 shows an open filter housing that is fairly common on gassers. He may have installed the under hood blanket and Fatmat combo to reduce noise from this...
I had one of the K&N Filters from my truck lying around- I removed it to sell the truck as stock. It is pretty efficient as it allows more air in in addition to an open-sided type filter that it sat on top of. Besides… it does look cool.
I thought I would just try to figure out how to...
Vet89,
I just changed all 4 tires out. I was running the stock sized Silent Armor Radials. I just changed to the Treadwright "Guard Dog". Here is a pic of them. They are a little noisier; but I have new(er) sound mats in the floor and doors, so it's not bad. These tires, by-the-way, are pretty...
I installed the grill cover I ordered from Jatonka the other day. I gotta say, it was fast delivery, and fast to install. The quality seems top drawer as well. I ordered the "hardware Kit" I was glad to have it; but frankly, the parts would be half the price from ACE Hardware.
Easy to install...
I just received my Grill Cover for the Blazer from Jatonka. Dennis included some instructions and it looks to be a breeze to install. I'll post when I do... too rainy out at the moment. Also just got a gallon of Opti-Lube XPD for diesels. I hope it's all it is cracked up to be.
UPDATED with pics.
Wallew, I had been wondering about these units and was even going to get one. I ended up taking a paint course at the Community COllege to paint my wife's car last summer. I was introduced to all the steps of priming and painting with compressed air guns. I promptly came home and tackled some...
It is the best one NAP had. Still, it pales in comparison to the beefy copper one I removed. I kept it. I think I'll have the radiator shop I trade with look it over and see if it cam be rebuilt.
Anyone know a place to send these to?
MUDDuck, just stole some ideas from you to put those rifle racks to use. thanks. Also I have a Pioneer Rack from a humvee- I though I would bolt it into the Drivers rear window; but it may look pretty cool on the grille- I just hate to see it get ripped-off
Took my Wilson Gear Reduction starter to O'Reily's for warranty replacement. They are shipping me a new one! :jumpin:. Cleaned all the oil/crud from the flexplate cover. _ too cold nad foggy to replace tonight- tomorrow looks better. I am gonna shelve the WIlson unit. I already stuck my standby...
I was just wondering. Since I put my new Napa Heater Core in I have not ever though: "wow, that sucker is getting hot!" My temp gauge- yes gauge- I installed one on the passenger side boss, rarely tops 130* for the first 30 minutes or so. Today I got it near 150*. Beats overheating, I know, but...
