I will be bypassing my FDC for awhile while I collect parts and make time to repair it. As winter approaches it may be this way a few months.
My question. I understand that when bypassed the fuel pump should be turned down. How much to much is it. I don't trive the truck hard, but could use a...
I would get it out of that shop ASAP! Before you jump to any conclusions I would get a couple of opinions from people with diesel experiance. There are several things that can cause a knock in a diesel engine and some cheap simple tricks to troubleshoot them that you might even do yourself. If...
The good news is we now have photo proof of residential attacks by terrorists. I have also come accrossed several plastic HMMWV's and other military vehicles distroyed and damaged by simmular young "activeists" The public should be warned!!!
There were 2 army airfields and a couple aux. fields in and near Lubbock. Spent several years at Reese AFB Crash/Rescue and on West Carlile Fire Dept. There is alot of WWII stuff scattered in the fields.
crane
Here is my modified crane. Excuse the non green mounting.... I am useing it for a project on my ATV trailer, but it will return to its normal place on the deuce. Fully extended it picks about 300lbs without trouble. It can be removed from its base and still use the troop seats as well...

I downloaded the M887 manual on this site. I have a M1028 with the M887 body with the Wisconsin driven generator/welder combonation. Its a totally different setup. Alot of welders seem to be missing from the M1031's. They plug into the generator.
I have one of these trucks with about 30,000 mi. Same body and truck arangement. The state DOT used mine and painted it. Ill be turning it green again sometime!! A good project!
Backing up a step in the thread... I've driven Mack fire trucks with the Allison 3 speed W/ retarder. The pedal is usually by your left heal infront of the seat. Yours may be placed differently. It was easy to forget the pedal was there and be standing on it unintentionaly. It would stall the...
