Incorrect Year on Title ??? California Registration Assistance?

Culver City DMV...right in my neck of the woods! That blows about the weight fees! I didn't have to do that. I also got the VIN verification at the Inglewood AAA. Mostly a no sweat operation for me.

    Threw a Torque Rod today

TCD: If you could also give us updates on the performance of those "high-speed" HD torque rod ends. I have had my eye on those for a while now. I spoke to the part vendor a while back and he said the "water truck guys" use them. I have not seen anyone here install them on their trucks.

Incorrect Year on Title ??? California Registration Assistance?

The title for my M818 is also incorrect; reads '83, but the truck is a '77 (I do want to amend it though). Even with that discrepancy, I was still able to plate Historic. Your issue seems a little more daunting. I s there not a manufacturing date on the data plate or is blank as mention before...

    M809-series (M818) Air Brake Retrofit

Thanks for your compliments. I'm going to put the cost around $6K. It was the brake kit plus shipping that drove up the cost. However, it took the guess work out of finding the right parts. I'm hoping my monetary sacrifice and the posting of part numbers will help others keep their costs down if...

    M809-series (M818) Air Brake Retrofit

All tubing and fittings connected to the front ports of both the primary and secondary driver's side tanks were removed. This also included the double check valve as the new dash control module has an integral double check that performs the same function. Here are the before VVV pics... The...

    M809-series (M818) Air Brake Retrofit

I preassemble all fittings to the SR-7 valve and installed a length of tubing on the balance port which will connect up to the existing balance fitting on the R-12 relay. The first thing I did on the truck was pull a new length of 3/8" tubing that would connect the push-pull spring brake valve...

    M809-series (M818) Air Brake Retrofit

I have decided to simplify the spring brake control system. I get to eliminate three valves when all is said and done. I was going to use this arrangement early on, but the parts (SR-7 valve) were more expensive at the time. So, I found and purchased an SR-7 Spring Brake Modulating Valve with a...

New guy with a new ride seeking winch purchase advise

The winch assembly part number, 7954486, comes back the same for both the M809 and M939-series trucks per their respective TM's. The hydraulic motor adapter input shaft sleeve inner diameter should match the yoke on the PTO shaft.

New guy with a new ride seeking winch purchase advise

It should be snug on the winch input shaft. There shouldn't be any side to side slop.

    Spring Brake Chambers

These are for front and rear service and rear spring. I installed some on my front chambers and they do fit. http://www.eriksmilitarysurplus.com/airbrdifandr.html As for the spring brake chamber removal, just ensure they are properly caged and you can open up the service side (smaller clamp)...
