I have never had a concern about any parts. They are just hard to look up at the chain parts stores. There seem to be plenty of old vehicles still around. Half of the fun is hunting for old junk! You find a few trucks, ask about them, then as time goes by someone calls you back and says "I just...
Sorry to hear about your losses. I purchased my red truck for $1200 and my Yellow truck ffor $2400. Both Ran, drove and shifted. Then I watched truck prices climb a few years ago in the midwest. I believe at one time Red may have been worth about 6k with all the canvas and winch. I think the...
I rebuilt the pump and a few years later it went out again. I blame it on alcohol and water condensation in a part of the country with high humidity. Both pumps below have proven reliable in the configurations described.
My replacement for the red truck is:
Carter P4603HD Universal Rotary Vane...
The 302 military engine had no provision for a fuel pump. It is in the tank. I believe it runs 3-4 psi. I run inline pumps now without issues. I run 6-8 just because that is what the gauge in my regulator says. It may not be very accurate. Get the iinline regulature with a gauge that reads in...
I did pickup an air over hydraulic pump. It did work well. I think I had about $150 in the whole thing. I took several wheels/tires to a local shop and it took longer to roll them into the shop than it did to dismount them on that big tire changer. They turned up against what looked like a 12"...
I picked this one up in April of 2011. I don't think there is a bolt ot part that has not been taken off and been cleaned, painted and reassembled at least once. Unfortunately it is an outside truck and Mother Nature sometimes undoes what I do. My bright red paint has turned chalky. I'm going to...
I have not slept there yet, but getting organized. We cut thru the pines to get into the back field. We also planted 325 trees this weekend. I'm going to get the winch driveline in this summer and drag some logs up the hill.
Yesterday I installed the rebuilt water pump and got her road worthy. Then a friend offered to haul it to its new home. Mustard is heading 30 miles up the road on top of the ridge where we own a small piece of property. Campsite!
Nice looking truck. Can you post a pic of the rear wheels showing the hubs? Thanks.
I'm wondering if this is a M135 with M35 or 211 wheels on it.
Welcome!
Update: I just sold the M38A1C to a guy an hour away today. It has a froze up engine in a basket. It was hard to part with, but HndrsnJ promised me his complete and much cleaner M38a1.
