That is a problem.
I found they roll fairly east in a straight line. When you turn just a little the 2 rear axles bind. Disconnect one driveshaft and it moves much easier. I pull the rear shaft out and chain up the rear axle to the frame. Getting tat weight off helps reduce the bind as well. If...
I ran into MajorTom from Alfa Heaven this weekend at the Iola Old car Show. I left with the feeling that they are really working hard to have a successful event. The majority of swap spaces are sold, but some are still left. He described the swap/show/camping layout. It sounds like he has...
My understanding is the REB kits came out to solve a problem and give the driver more control over shifting. Engine braking and slippery down hill surfaces in Korea have been cited. I'm told the high reverse failures were identified and a bolt was included in the REB kit and during service as...
Yes. The story is high reverse should never be used...even without the reb shifter. That is the story. High reverse is just plain weak. There are many accounts to back it up. The transmission is probably the most common failure point in these trucks. It is a car transmission built up for a...
Yes that is a REB shifter. Some love them, others hate them. The only draw back is you can bump it and accidently downshift it. It will downshift from fourth to first and the result is significant damage to the engine/transmission. The benefits are you shift it when you want and you have some...
Did you notice CMPPhil's pictures on post 38? The bell housing looks the same.

Look at the inside of the canister for pitting before you go any further. It needs to clean up very well. If all is good we should be able to provide some castings.
You can put a M35 air pack in it if you pull the check valve out of the master cylinder. It takes some plumbing
I have one of those too. It works great for the 22.5 tires and farm tractor tires. The Split ring mounted tires with flaps are a real stinker. They are stiff, old and rusty.
I have an 11.00-20 M135 tire to take off next. That one is worse than the 9.00 because it bulges over the split ring...
I picked up a new used tool last week for $40. I hooked it up to the pump for my shop press. It does the job, but the air/hydraulic pump is a must. I had to reposition it 14 times and pumped for 20 minutes to get the bead pushed down on both sides. I see HF has them on sale Monday for $109 with...
Good Solution. I found a muffler a couple years ago from a mid 80s chevy car. It may have been a Caprice or a Camaro with a 305. I can't remember. It has 2" id inlet and outlet. I still have it as I planned to do what you did. It should be super quiet. How does yours sound?
Yes vertical, and it keeps the stack from becoming a grab handle. They all came from g749s of various years. One may be M135, one was a M211 and I don't know what the other was as I purchased a cab only. I've noticed a few minor differences between years on other things as well.
Yes. It is the one missing the gasket on the top to keep water out. I have the original tank and a good pump. I need to coat the tank, but I'd rather spend the money on other parts. With a 15 gallon fuel cell that has the outlet on the bottom there is no question when it is out of gas. I'm blown...
As far as the original questions about flex pipe and v-band clamps- I purchased 2 different style flex pipes on ebay. One was an original looking accordion style and the other was a double braided flex connector. Both were 2.5"x12" with straight exhaust pipe ends welded in from the factory...
Plowboy, I did not see the exhaust doughnuts the first time I looked at your posts. I purchased some off ebay that were "g749" that were obviously modern Walker ones. They were much thicker and would not work with the correct band clamps. I had to reform all of my flanges and forced the band...
