I think I'll probably just pick up the Corporate 14 and then keep my eyes and ears open for a suitable front axle. A Dana 60 would sound cool but honestly it's way more axle then I need and I'm concerned about re-gearing it and also if it's the undesirable kind. I do have a few questions about...
Huge thread with lots of pictures and ideas here: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/27922-wheres-your-license-plate.html
Just do a search for "license plate".
OK the guy with the Dana 70 rear called me back. He said it's an open axle (no locker) and that he shaved the spring perches off. He also said he has a Dana 60 front with 4:56 gearing in it. He said he would take $500 for both. Sound like a good deal?
I have been wanting to change out my axles for a while now and I would appreciate some input regarding my choices. Mainly I want the better gearing of a 4:10 or 3:73 and I would like to have the 8-lug 16" wheels so that they match my Suburban and my I've been wanting an M101A2 trailer for a...
Sounds like typical 4 Wheel Parts. I've had some really bad experiences with them. So much so that I won't let them work on anything for me. The only time I purchase from them is if something goes on sale.
I think I have some pictures on my profile but here are few anyhow.
The second one has my truck sitting right next to a truck with 31 x 10.50 tires for a little comparison. Hope these help.
33 x 12.50 is really pushing without just a little lift if you ask me.
EDIT TO ADD: Check out the...
I'm going to say they won't fit. I know "fit" is a different definition for everyone else but in my opinion they won't. I have 32 x 11.50 R15 BFG All Terrains on mine and I think they are just right. Not too small and not too big. Plus they were around $150 each. I have replaced all five...
Are you leaving the front axle a 6 bolt? The majority of the time that's where a lot of the weight of the truck is so I would think you would want to beef it up too. Plus you won't be able to rotate your tires.
Does ATS make the kit anymore? I can't find it anywhere on their site. I'd be interested to know how much it costs compared to the Banks kit. Also from what I hear Banks won't be selling their version much longer.
How old is the relay? If it's old or you don't even know you may just replace it and see if that helps. They are only $3 or so at the auto parts store.
They actually have a newer type of netting that is mesh and then has the fake "leaves". Same Mickey Mouse looking poles. Back around 2003 we got rid of a bunch, and I mean a bunch, of the old style netting. Our TOC and TAC took up about 5-10 acres of tent space and then the whole thing had to...
Ah man every vehicle we had in the guard was green with a tan tarp or tan with a green tarp. Why we never changed them you ask??? LAZY SOLDIERS of course!!! :-P
I tightened up my belts and it for the most part went away. They still squeal though from time to time so I may want to try some belt dressing and see if that helps.
I'm headed from Houston to South East Louisiana and then back to Houston next week. I head to Houma, LA on the 9th of July and I'm heading back on the 16th. If anyone would like something hauled let me know.
