It sound like oil cooler to me. It's leaking into the oil system and coming out of the main.
Maybe Will Wagner will chime in here he knows these engines much better than most.

Not according to the manual. It lists using a puller to remove the pulley giving access to the seal and oil slinger. Do not turn the engine while the pulley is off. when you reassemble tourque to 270 to 340 lbs./ft.

I think you're right. If it's not on the top of the piston it's probably not the sleeve. Wait till the pan is off, then if no leaks are noted check the cooler. You should be able to see a leak in the cooler with the pan off.( I think)

If the air cylinder is extending and the VS portion of the ip gov. is in place and working the engine should steady at 1200 1250 rpm.
Madsam's right, unless u want to disassemble the cranks just take your time and soak, wiggle, tap,and soak somemore.

It's attached to the front of the power divider and is actuated when you engage the crane drive, the lever on the rear deck, in front of the rear winch. When the crane drive is engaged the valve supplies air to the air cylinder which, then, actuates...
