    My GMC, a little update

Glad to see you are making progress. Where did you find wheel cylinder kits? How about some pics of that carpet job?

My new M220 soon to be camper

Thanks for the support. I have to thank Maccus. He found it and led me to the truck. Truck's previous owner was a GM mechanic. Gene felt it was sound mechanically. Even all the lights work. I plan on picking 1 more new batteries up today. Have 2 red seatbelts on the way from an Ebayer for $30...

I like the channels the lights are mounted in. Did you make those too?

My new M220 soon to be camper

Gene, I'm going to cut down the depth of that counter top to less than 25" so it does not go into the doorway. The clear inside width is 90". What are the dimensions of the back walls and doors? Pass wall+pass back door+drivers dack door+drivers wall=90" Thanks!

My new M220 soon to be camper

Another good point. Even if I throw in another driver seat on the passenger side I will have 20" between them. I can pop one in about 20 minutes and have it look like it belongs. The boot may require some planning, but I can do that too.

My new M220 soon to be camper

Gene is that counter to a standard depth kitchen counter 25"? What is the distance fron the top of the window to the ceiling? What is the height of the window? What is the distance from floor to window? If I add all 3 numbers it should equal the wall height. I figure 144" inside minius the 82"...

My new M220 soon to be camper

That is a good point Gene. I was thinking about mounting my greywater can on the rear mudflap for quick changes and if it overflows, so what. Also tossing around the idea of infloor electric heat or some type of electric heat at electric camp sites. This thing will be done the week it gets...

My new M220 soon to be camper

The plan so far: A window AC unit over the cab. Bunk beds on both sides with table in the middle. Passeger side rear- dorm fridge, countertop, cabinets, and sink. Drivers side rear- Furnace under a gun locker, portable toilet (for wife) Things may move around windows a little. I would love...

It has the potential to be my permanent residence.

My new M220 soon to be camper

I went to the DMV today. I have to say it was a great experience. The people at the counters were very helpful and friendly. Walked out with title, registration, paid tax and #20,000 plates for $321. It is a camper so it is registered as a motor home. I may tow a trailer as a camper. I thought...

Thanks for the kind words. I whacked on that hood for a long time. I used a curved tire spoon and a 2#hammer on a sand bag. There ended up being a crack on the ceneter ridge where the hood hits the windshield. I welded and ground that one. Got it close, then gave up and took it to my friend at a...

I will probably just do flat black paint on this one. May carpet the M220 when it gets here.

Yes, I agree black would be best. I could not wait. Had to combine some of my projects so I just mounted it. One less thing in the yard. Wife put the foot down, "No more trucks until you get some of this crap out of the yard." It was said quite loudly, I must add. I had it coming. Did not...

Before the wrecker arrived, I hooked the haywagon up to the deuce and parked it on the road. Had the straps pre-hooked up to the bed. The wrecker arrived and parked at the end of my driveway and I drove up under the wrecker boom, and he lifted and I backed under. Had 4 mounting bolts already set...

Yep, it is red. Fortunately I put a little flattener in it before I sprayed it. It settles down a lot in a couple weeks. I'm going for that early 70's Civil Defense proud fire department look. -Really! :-D

    Maybe spray on bedliner

    First '52 XM211

I primed the bed last night and sprayed the paint this afternoon. I hope to have a wrecker come and lift it in the morning so I can drive the truck under it. I still have some work to do, but I will do it after it is on the chassis

Well Jim. I got lucky when I recovered the winch. I drove past a fab shop in the middle of nowhere that had a sign up for steel sales. Spent $14 on the tube. Check out the new Blizzak snow tires on the hay wagon! :-P Last 2 pics are 1 year ago at its former Minnesota home
