Looks good, Brian. I like the curved look better for my truck, but I'll keep the straight stack idea in mind. I think that such a tall stack would need to be removed in order to get my truck into my workshop (after I dig out a truck-sized hole from all of the junk in my shop, that is). Now, if...
Thank you! Do you mean to cut off some of the existing counterweight to change the balance, or cut off some of the pipe to change the end angle? I'm leaning towards the latter, as long as it won't cause problems like letting rain drip down into the pipe despite the flapper.
After diverman's...
I decided to install an exhaust flapper on my M923 to keep rain and wandering monsters out of the exhaust pipe. I tried a paint can first, and found that it didn't sit on the exhaust pipe nicely because of the big bend at the end of the pipe. So, I got a nice-looking 4" flapper off eBay, painted...
I have had to take off the transmission covers in some of my trucks before. I recommend keeping them removable.
Good luck! I'm going to watch this thread, too, since I'd like to add noise/thermal insulation to some of my trucks sometime.
I agree. I am in favor of the classified ad rules, and I am in favor of strict enforcement of them. That being said, life will be easier for users and moderators alike if the site makes it easier to do what's expected than to break the rules. These computer thingies are supposed to help us do...
It will take you right to a list of every thread that you started. Your mileage may vary, but most of the threads I've started are not classified ads, and my single classified ad is buried in a much longer list. I think this is precisely what Bighurt is pointing out.
Agreed!
I think you missed his point. He wasn't complaining about dead ads in the main forum. He was stating that the ad section has different rules than the main forum, but it's accessed with the same tools as the main forum, and those tools are optimized for the main forum rules. I don't think anybody...
I agree that a "My Classified Ads" button, field, tab, etc. in the user control panel would be helpful. However, as I was about to post this reply, it occurred to me that we already have a close approximation to that feature available: Subscriptions can be sorted into different folders, other...
Hopefully it didn't do much damage if they failed to start it. Now, if it says they got it running with the fluids drained, maybe I'd bid on a different truck!
Thank you! I'm still curious about the other gear ratios, but the top gear was what I most wanted to verify. If I have all of the numbers right now, I come up with a top speed of 57 MPH at 2100 RPM with 43" diameter 11.00R20 tires, which looks about right to me.
I would like to know the transmission, transfer and differential gear ratios in a stock M923 (M939 series) truck. I haven't managed to find that info in the TMs so far, and I'm not positive that the generic info I found online for MT654 transmissions is correct for whatever is in the M923. I...
Hmm, there was also black goo residue on the air fittings in my dash. I had a few loose fittings behind the dash and a cracked windshield wiper hose that I fixed a week ago.
I got a really nice M923 out of Barstow a few weeks back. I think that you and your boys will be really happy once that M9xx comes rolling home. They're neat trucks.
