the add a leaf spring is about just as long as the main leaf. it is also arched, if you simply added a leaf of the same length as one of the shorter ones you would only gain the thickness of that leaf, basically just a spacer.
refer to picture #1 above, before that "add a leaf" the rubber...
Not sure what you're askin', the plate should lift off the studs once the nuts are removed.
1st pic my plow truck - M884 with add a leaf
2nd pic an M880 series springs
1976/1977 Dodge W200 pickup with 3500 lb front axle (D44)
for reference my W400 with a 4500 lb front axle (D60) has 6 or 7 leaves under the main leaf. They are interchangeable between the two.
JC Whitney among dozens of other online sources has them, any spring shop can get or make them.
20 MPG in a M1009 makes Onaway closer than you think ;)

jeez, give the service tech the benefit of doubt.
Your truck have those yellow stickers on it that say Use Silicone fluid only?
He may have noticed.
What was written on the repair bill?
Could simply stop in and ask the service guy.
Works for me
The left front will hit the pitman arm when turned full right.
Mine are on 6 7/8 wide stock wheels, the spaced out humvee wheels may make a difference.
Your word "well" is an opinion, they do work.
I was the 1st one to make it up this hill, got bored waiting for someone else to make it so I took the pic of it sitting there. Another M880 with the 9.50-16.5's was stuck at the bottom.
an add a leaf up front helps.
Anyone here from Flat Rock?
I've received request for assistance from 2 different people regarding
keeping MV's in the city of Flat Rock, Michigan.
At this point I have no facts, and one side of the story.
I am over 3 hours away from that town & could use assistance from someone local
Thanks!
Clear in line fuel filter before the fuel pump, carry a spare one.

Ignition module,
fuses
headlight switch
ballast resister ( Although I never had one go bad on these trucks)
95% of electrical problems are ground related.
