Roof mounted A/c on a hard top?

I didn't get a picture of my rig, but in 2004, I drove the deuce to Aberdeen with a window unit mounted in the front rack of the cargo bed and run it from a generator I had in the M105 trailer. I just stuck it up to the rear window in the canvas cab cover. If I had used a bigger unit it would...

    New M882

I put a new fuel pump on my M886 yesterday. Runs great now. I also had cracked hoses at the fuel tank and one spot on the passengers side behind the cab where the line crossed the truck and turned forward. These cracks let it suck air and not pump. The pump worked a few weeks after I fixed the...

    New Guy in South Carolina

You shoud come up some weekend and check out the 5 ton. It's the coolest truck a regular guy can own (for under $6000). Here's a link to the add: Marine M813, super singles, lockers, fording kit. - Steel Soldiers::Military Vehicles Supersite I even took my little girl to school in it this week.

    New Guy in South Carolina

I don't know about Charleston, but there are a bunch of us in Columbia that have trucks. But you don't what no stincking deuce, when you can buy my 5 ton  If you come up our way anytime soon, I'm in Blythewood just north of Columbia, you can smoke some over. You might even consider a...

You can have your stinkin' deuce!

I know I'm going to regret this thread, but I just drove the M813 for a hour or so and I will never own another deuce. This big cummins powered monster is much more of a truck. It is quieter, more powerful, easier to steer and just plain manlier (did I spell that right?). I know you all lover...

DC to AC inverter for AC in Dodge

The dodge is 12 volt and starting the unit is my biggest concern. I don't know what the unit pulls on start up and I guess I could use my amprobe and try to measure it, but I wouldn't expect that to be accurate. I think the amprobe would not have time to measure the peak amps. I hate to buy an...

DC to AC inverter for AC in Dodge

OK, here's the idea. I want to use a 120 volt air conditioner (window unit maybe) in my M886 box. I may even put a unit on top. I was thinking of keeping a 120 volt generator on the vehicle but then I thought, could I use a 1500 watt or bigger inverter and install a larger alternator on the...

I hate to ask, how do you get 14.00's to inflate on ODIron wheels?

And then I soiled myself Well, one of the tires got slack, and since I'm slack I didn't do anything about it for a few days and, you guessed it, it broke down from the rim:cry:. It was sitting down about 6" because the back is so light and I was able to get it to pop up with the "cheata" tank...

    M886 Red Cross positioning

Sorry about the delay. For a slow economy, I'm real busy (not complaining). The square measures 39" by 39". I didn't measure the back one. With the glass and so forth, the back one should be easy to do with some pictures. I will try to take some pictures with a tape measure in place to set...

    M886 Red Cross positioning

I found the outline of the original on my truck and matched that. I had to guess on the red cross, but the white box is right. If you want me to get you some measurements, let me know. Joe

Got an empty truck headed to central Florida this week

My cousin has an empty goose neck trailer going to Florida this week and can haul some stuff down. I'll get him to post details later, I just wanted to give you all a heads up if you need something hauled down. Joe

    I love my M886 :-)

It seems half of what we do here is brag about our favorite trucks. Well here I go. I have owned several deuces and a few 5 tons, but with out a dout my M886 is now my favorite ride. I have posted pictures of it on the following thread...

Official '09 SS Ga. Rally Info thread

Me and Logan (5 year old daughter) will be there. She is looking forward to it. Please no big explosions this year. I never found out what that boom was Friday night, but Logan keeps reminding me it scared her and she almost "peed" her pants. As a side note, and this is a long shot, if there...

generator to run house and well

I am not sure I understand exactly what you are looking for but I will tell you what I have. 30 KW is huge. I have a 8 KW generator on my welder and I have my house wired to run off the generator. I plug my generator into the house, flip the main breaker in the pannel box, then flip the...

    My new M880

If you're not familiar with the military light switch, you may have to put it into the driving lights position before the truck lights will work. I didn't have any lights except the head lights until I put the military switch back in and switch it to driving lights. Anyway you should try that...

will a jeep wrangler fit in the bed of a Deuce?

For what it's worth, I moved my 88 wrangler in the back of my deuce years ago. I had to remove the front rack so the bumper could go over the bed a little to get the tail gate shut. I shut the gate, and drove home. No tie downs at all. I did not get to visit with any law enforcement...

    Free Deuce

Couldn't you take the VIN to the DMV and try to find the owners identity that way. If you can you can contact the owner direct. If it was ever tagged or titled that should work. Just a thought.
