You are right about that, GR.
I learned a lot about deuces from this thread. for example, I learned there's a dispenser located on the dash that looks like an ashtray.
Rick
bjsmith, your playground looks awesome! I like pic #2 where your deuce is churning through the deep water. It reminds me of a river boat scene!
Glad you got a chance to take her out, get her wet and get stuck! that is what fun is.
Rick
I did what you said: I clicked and am on the "Classifieds" page, looking on the left side of the page. I appear to be missing "the menu bar on the left". Lemme describe what I see:
There is a column on the left side that has first the GL ad. Below that is User CP box. Below that is "Users...
I re-read this thread and had the idea that this thread may be more about those of us with, ahem, wee little garages, than about our favorite MV!! Not to suggest what real men do or don't have.......
To quote a TV program from the sixties: "Space: The final frontier...."
Rick
A GM Hydro steering column, hydro brakes and a hanging pedal cluster probably came with that cab, which makes it closer to plug and play. I could be wrong. I thought I was once, but it turned out I was mistaken.
Rick
Help a guy out. How on earth do you perform search inside the classifieds?
Step by step instructions please for the classifieds impaired. I am not kidding.
Thanks,
Rick
That's a good idea, if it's adaptable to dual axle. Not being familiar (yet) with the 105, are the 105 brakes the same size and dimension of the deuce? Would it be as simple as plumbing more lines and doubling the air tank capacity???
Rick
I'll bump this thread because most of the trailers come from someone stripping a deuce power plant for another project, then re-utilizing the aft end. Therefore a search routine may not serve. Best for others to chime in.
The operators TM gives the tow capacity. I imagine the actual truck...
Judging by the shadow, the bed length looks pretty good.
I'm all for the concept! A deuce or 5 ton running gear mixed with the comforts of a civvy cab makes sense to me!
Rick
I believe in this idea.
I strongly believe that you can turn a 50 year old cargo truck with a long wheel base, dual rear axles and manual steering into a 70's era Unimog 406 with short wheel base, single rear axle and power steering. But of course!
Knock yourself out buddy. But please pipe...
NAPA may not have it in their store, but it's sure to be in their catalog.
Years ago, Interstate Batteries in San Diego started a supply business providing everything electrical for vehicles. You might check with them also.

Is there a company like Catepillar or another equipment supplier that makes complete tracks or sections that fit the M113?
I am seeking resources and appreciate any assistance.
Thank you,
Rick

I agree with the others. I think there are too many civvy rides (new, old, imported. domestic) for one section to cover and there is probably a better forum on the web for each of our other rides.
My other ride is a 1960 Studebaker Lark wagon.
Rick
I recommend using Google to search this forum for your questions about steering boots and about front axle seals. These issues are covered about twice a month and you may find the search for information interesting and informative.
Welcome to the site and cheers
Rick
