I got my parts a piece at a time and have about $500.00 in it total. I got the turbo and exhaust manifolds from ebay. The intake manifold from the local pull a part. The cross over from ebay. I wish I had found a whole set up to by at one time, but for me it didn't hurt the wallet getting a...
Thanks Guys! You all Rock! BTW Bob the manual just says "SCREW,CAP,HEXAGON H STEERING GEAR 3BRACKET TO FRAME 4X4" It doesn't give the information that you all gave. To the hardware store....
Thanks
Joe
The kit car approach makes sense since GM has the Hummer name and since there are other things they probably have to do if they made it driveable that would give them the OK from the gubment. It's just hard for me to swallow a 59K price tag and I can't drive it off the lot. Now if they offered...
Hi all,
Can someone tell me what is the size and length of the bolts that hold the steering gear to the bracket? I don't have a part manual -20P just a -20 so any help would be great.
Thanks,
Joe
You need the both exhaust manifolds from a 6.5 diesel. Then the cross over will work no problem. If you leave the drivers side manifold stock the cross over pipe will not hook up because the flang on the manifold is smaller than the flange on the cross over pipe plus the stock manifold is a...
Here is my reason for going with a 700r4 instead of the TH400. 700R4 Gear ratio 1st 3.06:1 2nd 1.62:1 3rd 1:1 and 4th .70:1 were as the th400 is 1st 2.48:1, 2nd 1.48:1 3rd 1:1 4th NA. The 700R4 gives you more 1st gear and highway speed where the 6.2 isn't going to sound like it's ready to...
The block on the durimax is not much different than a 6.2 or 6.5 block after all the dmax is a 6.6. The trans may be an issue and I would think you would have to pull the transfercase out of the donation truck also. The electronics would be the issue as both the motor and trans are electronic...
Wow 60K for a kit and once I put it together I still can't drive it because it has no engine, trans or transfercase. Wow such a deal for me! Why does that make me feel like 'just set it and forget it..it's that easy' They need Ron Popeil to help sell it.
Cool video....just one qustion. Are you wearing antigravity boots or was the camera guy standing on his head? The video when I played it was upside down. I had to turn my monitor over to see what was going on.
I don't think digital will corsipond to a vehicle very well. I would think on a GMC that the squares would have to be something like 4x4 or 6x6 inch squares? Plus you still need a pattern to follow.
Oh you could do something like uban cammo (is that 50 Shades of Gray?) [sorry] Or do...
Ok guys question. The turbo shown is the Gm-8 used in the late 90s. The Heath Diesel kit for the waist gate only works up to a 95 model. I do not think it will work as the replacement for that turbo. (which is the one I picked up for my project motor) Does any know of one that will work for...
Just a couple of things. First off nice truck. The dodges don't seem to hold up to well after the forest service is done with them. Second is that a winch on the front? If it is are you going to keep it on the truck? Or even better if you decide to take it off the truck mount it to your...
So is history repeating its self? Vehicle must be cut in half.... Is the Hmmwv going to have to suffer the same fates as it's smaller older brother? ....WHY???? Cool picks btw.
