Well...the tranny went last night in my M1009

Odd, very odd. There should be no difference between park and neutral on a TH400. (Except park has a pin that engages) IIRC the Humvee version doen't even have a "park" position. I would drop the pan, change the screen, check linkages etc, put in fresh fluid and go from there. (Side note...

Well...the tranny went last night in my M1009

I thought I broke a TH400 once........................ Turned out that It had twisted the insides of the Summit Racing torque convertor into shrapnel! even though a TH400 is very tuff I'd only use low range plowing with a 1009 due to the gearing. The most expensive part of the rebuild is...

    Hummvee tires/lift kits, 880 Dodge

    A3 rims on an A2

With the M35A3 wheels you do not have to worry about if the guy made the centers right, or cut the 10 lug centers out true. You also don't have to worry about them not being DOT legal. With the A3's you can hang a spare where it was intended.

    M880 Manuals

While I love my TM's, there is little difference between the M880 and the Dodge W200. I picked up the 1977 Dodge Truck factory service manual from dodgeboys over at ramchargercentral.com. It is the first book I consult for repairs. TM 9-2320-266-10 is the operators manual - fits in the glovebox...

    2nd official Michigan MVPA meeting

Yep City of Harrison, not Harrison Township (I forgot about that one!) For me @ 80 miles away, it is the 2nd closest meeting location any of the groups have had. Closest was Houghton Lake Heights @ 65 miles (& will be doing that run Saturday the 22nd [thumbzup] farthest meeting for me was 220...

    Chevy V8 mated with a TF727 M880

:ditto: a set of performance heads, carb, intake and cam will bring a 318 to life! a 360 too. I can't relate to pricing from Denmark, but $8000 for a motor! ouch PS Batco, my grandparents came to the USA from Copenhagen

    Bought a M880!

LOL! You will likely find that the fast idle will still work in the summer! The fast idle cam not releasing is quite common on these.

    Dip Stick Measurement

I've been trying to remember during the day to go out and measure it. The civilian 318 dip stick is the same. 6 quarts with a filter run it & let it sit a few and where the oil is is the full mark.

    Thinking of Buying a M36A3

I too sometimes think of buying a M36A3 * They are rare, I can see it selling for 9k as far as trouble spots vs the 'short bed' M35, con: much larger turning radius pro: smoother ride M36's have a reinforced frame * Making it a quad cab, using a M35A3 bed, add AC and it's fun for the whole...

    Correct trailer for a M1009

I pull my M101A2 with my Jeep Cherokee, tows like a dream. for a M1009 I'd put a frame mounted receiver hitch on it.

    gutted 5 ton front housing

I would think a 3/8" plate would do the trick, 1/2" would be better. It may be strong enough without, but it would cheap insurance.

    Another M1009 towing capacity question

Matt, I'm confused, you said you replaced the pintle with a 15k reese, which is a frame hitch right? If not I know a guy that can fab up a nice frame hitch ;-) The bumper setup and the 3.08 gears are the problems for towing. Trans cooler will help. Might want to use low range around town with...
