Correct! Frames flex, if they weren't heat treated they would just bend. Although many on here think they know more than the engineers and think it is perfectly ok to weld on a truck frame. I have never seen a welded frame that didn't crack at the edge of the weld.

Close! I had always though it was the nut behind the steering wheel. The big tool I'm glad I bought was the 1" impact driver with the Budd socket. Yea sure it's freakin heavy, but for the lug nuts, resistance is futile.

I suspect the engine failure is likely due to FD's not having time to let the multi warm up before taking off.

There is a sticker on my M880 that lists GVWR and has a statement on it that this vehicle conforms to Fed regs at time of manufacture. I don't know if that is the "NHTSA" sticker. I'm wondering how WisDot registers any pre 1981 vehicle at all, if they need a 17 digit vin

Scrap yards sell the scrap for double what they pay for us it. If they are paying $200 ton / they are likely selling it at $400 / ton I was wanting to save a M215(?) Dump not too far from here for $800 had to pass on it, not enough time or money, or years left... Save it if you can!

Our neck of the woods is relatively flat. The trails / two tracks are on US Forest Service land. I have yet to get the new maps, which will be required. For 2010 and beyond the USFS has deceided that the only place you can drive is what is shown on their new maps. So that sweet highly used...
