A truely restored M817 would cost serious big $$$$ I would check it out closely, as some just slap a little paint & tires on & call them restored

I would think you'ld need to cut it down to 8 foot long. It would still weigh 12 to 1400 lbs. A M101 bed would work, although they are somewhat smaller than a stock bed. an M105 bed would need to be cut down to fit too.

Safety first! If your driving them out, check brake fluid level, check for wheel cyl leaks. Check the lug nuts! Look for anything loose in the steering. and hit the brakes hard while still in the lot, then check for leaks again. Check the lug nuts!

Likely bad grounding of electronic module on fender or firewall. I believe both trucks were Air Force contract.

Not an M880 series truck. '72 or '73 and RARE! the two other ones I know of have a Dana70 front axle and a dana 60 rear. An SS member (odjeeper) here in Michigan has one of those.
