What was said above...the 151 gets squirrly being towed behind anything. But behind a pick up you can see when the tires get locked to the left or right on a cuve, feel the drag and can stop and fix it. With a duce, you won't know it and drag it down the street. Tie the wheels straight and...
That's the blank number that any key shop or hardware store will use to know to use a 1907s chrysler blank instead of a KW1 which is for a kwickset house lock etc.
What you need to find out is the cutting code the dealer would use to cut a new key. And yes one key fits them all. I might even...
I think you'de be better off keeping your money and passing on this one. Find one even if it's not running in better condition on rims and tires to start with. You're going to put just as much work into the project, but you'll have more usable parts. Fair to good M37s can be had from 500 and up...
You might be better off trying to find a good take off that is in better condition than the one you have. Maybe find a couple of windshields to make one? Good luck with your project. BTW is that a factory hard top?
As everyone else has said.....Saweet looking truck....eggsalad!! Very good find and mostly all there. Hasn't been to mucked up by civilian do gooders. I think with a shop trailer behind it (converted to camper) all done up green with stars would be just to cool. You are going to be...
Does the bed cap come with it? Might get some money for parts by selling that... :)
Truck looks good and looks like a good canidate for fixing and or restoring.
That's a real collectors item there. They were rare to start with and finding one with all the 5th wheel etc is even more rare! Please keep us posted with picks and your restoration. I look forward to seeing it...and congrats on growing the herd.... :)
That and the fact that it is 4x4 instead of 6X6 makes me think it's a chevy 1.5 ton. The rims are somebodies aftermarket and not the actual rims and tires of the wwII truck.
During the late 1960 both Ford and Kaiser had a contract to build the M151A1 vehicles. Ford built them up till the early 70's where as Kaiser and then later AMG built them from the mid 60s on. I can't say go here and look, but about 15 years ago I went to the Jeep musium in Toledo Ohio and they...
Ok one more thing...the -34 states to remove the axle shafts go to TM9-2320-266-20. In other words that is a orginizational maintence item so you have to go to that manual even though you at direct support. Go figure. Anyone know where I can find the -20?
IMHO I like the idea that was first proposed except that I personnaly think the 6.2L GM diesel is a dog of a motor. If (or maybe I should say when...hahaha) I get another M211 or variant I'm thinking of getting the IH Dt466 and allison trans from a school bus and dropping it in. I like the...
The color is 24087 on your truck. It has flaten and darken with age (typical of original GI paint) If you want to have it be an exact match to the paint that is on there you could take a part to the paint store and have it color matched by their PC. That would make it identical to what you...
Hi all,
I have a set of 70 dodge axles the same as the M880 serries trucks and I'm looking for the section out of the -20 and -34 for the maintenance of the axles. I did a search through the manual here, but didn't find them. I don't need the whole manual just the section on the front and rear...
