    M220 parts wanted

Parts off a newer van body will work. You might be right on the truck being used in a very specific job. Might have been used as a semi permanite position kind of deal. It sounds like you got a great deal and yes pics would be great.

    What do I do?

When I read the discription of where the starter button was I had to look to see if I was in the M151 form... :) On a 151 you have to push in the clutch to hit the starter, but not on a M37 where it's above the gas pedel as stated.

    Gun Truck

Yes the Half-track quad mount trucks are out there. Some even restored with propane firing 50s on them for display. Actually a neat ride in the gunners seat... :) I've seen a half dozen or so in collectors hands in different states of repair and restoration.

    Axle swap

I wouldn't swap the axles. The M135/211 axles IMHO have a better brake set up than the M35. Having owned both trucks adjusting the brakes on the M211 was much eaiser than the M35 and the M211 would stop on a dime and give 8 cents change where the M35 well it will slow down and stop...

    M211 Wheel bearings

Well it's been about 12 years since I owned my M211 but when I did the bearings I packed them in grease with new seals etc. Then six months later I pulled one axle down to replace a wheel cylinder that had gone bad (even though I had replaced it at the time) and gear lube was up inside the...

Do you want those on CCKW, M211 or M35 bread?

    M211 pricing

I think you got a good truck with a good sound modification. I think the price was more than I would be willing to pay for but it sounds like you are happy and that's what matters. I would look into getting on board air installed. It can be done on a V8 engine. This will allow you to rehook...

    Dana 60 under a m37?

Yes you can put new axles under a M37 but not with out some work. On the front axle you either have to shorten the axle to make it sit on the diff spring pearch or you have to move the front passinger spring out about 2 inches. On the rear it looks like a direct bolt in but it is not you have...

Found this neat old GMC for sale in PA.

He is defenantly thinking of it in construction equipment pricing. Try to buy a new off road truck with the drilling equipment on it and you can bet it's worth a lot more money. Still I think he is going to be hard pressed to sell it at that price even in the construction buiz.

    m211 and m35

Two totally different animals like was said before. The M211 has two wheel cylinders per wheel and the shoes adjust using a wormed bolt/gear device wher as the M35 has one cylinder and adjusts like an old truck with feeler gauge etc. Shop around like was said.

    56 m220

When I had an M211 it was a 45 -50 mph depending on road and conditions. Up hill 25-35 which on a freeway can get you flipped of in more unusual ways than you would believe. Down hill with a tail wind you could hit 60. If driving in hill country I will try to sling shot by running down the...

    M37 - NDTs or NDCCs?

They did make a 9.00 x 16 NDCC because the M715 was fitted with them. I am not an expert here but I recal reading that even though the NDCC was establised as the post WWII tire many vehicles including the M37 were issued NDT from the factory. Maybe they had so many after WWII that it took some...

Are you sure the steering is locked up and not something else like the knuckles? Can you disconnect the steering from the rest of the system and see if it turns then?
