That would have to be a typo, .75 is 3/4 of an inch! That is one BIG overbore! Standard overbores are .020, .030, .060. Make sure of what you have in there before ordering, some engines came from the factory with oversize pistons or bearings. It was perfectly acceptable.

He said it had the same 24 volt starter and glow plugs, Problem here is the CUCV has 12 volt glows.
Mine is converted to 12 volt, less stuff to deal with and if I need a starter on the road it is easier to find. I can also get a jump if need be. The problem I have is the single alternator belt...
They were either very small heating pads or one **** of a big extension cord and outlet. Most of those heaters are 500 to 1000 watt X 4 = minimum of 2000 watt and max of 4000. A special 30 amp 110 volt outlet would cover 3000 watts but above that you are looking at 2 20 amp circuits and 10...
You are saying he had a single 24 volt alternator? That would work for a while but you will be buying a lot of batteries due to battery imbalance. The only thing 24 volt on those trucks is the starter. The glow plugs are actually 12 volt powered through the resistor bank on the firewall which...
If you go to one alternator then you are going to be converting to 12 volt and there are a couple of wiring changes that will have to be made. You can not run a single 24 volt alternator on this vehicle due to the fact that most of the vehicle functions are 12 volt.

The small terminals you are talking about are tachometer connections and do not apply on your vehicle. You NEED to get the correct wiring diagram for the CUCV and follow it to a T. Do NOT, NOT, NOT hook up the batteries as a test! That can get real expensive if you set the whole harness on fire...
Some of the tires we used on hay wagons were amazing! They were cracked, split, tread falling off and overloaded by a factor of 4 but they still held air. Surface cracks on rubber is just a product of ozone and not detrimental to the tire but when the cracks get deeper and will open and close as...
Here is food for thought. I bought a CUCV with four great looking tires, no checking, cracks, nothing. Within three weeks tree of them had blown out! I didn't wait for number four. Keep in mind I was only driving locally and not on highways and not loaded. The tires were just old and even though...
Front hubs are exactly the same as a civvie 3/4 heavy or a one ton. The standard 3/4 ton came with an eight lug Dana 44 front. The rest are all standard Dana 60.

[but also as we say in the infantry try to have thick skins and not let little stuff get to you (us). ]
By the way, although a couple of bullets have made their way through my skin the insults do not bother me. I am just thinking of the overall image that is projected of the site. It was on a...
That is all fine and good but this is an INFORMATION forum first and foremost and that was what the OP was looking for and got. I get a kick out of your type A description. Most of those descriptions would not fit well in a FREE information type of setting. I guess I am a B+ type, I want to get...
Was that really called for? He was asking a legit question and he got answers and made a decision based on those answers.
Tacticaldoc, You can go to any Four wheel drive shop and get what you need to beef up the suspension on the truck you have. The only concern I would have is all of the...
Stan, I wish I were closer. Between your machining and my welding we could probably supply a lot of the needs of the SS community. Within reason I mean.[thumbzup]

The Dix generators were 3100 and 2900. I live right there so naturally they will be out of sight. Part of the reason was that they both showed 2 hours on the meters. Another thing to consider is the dealers buying 10 and 20 at a time. They resell the runners, fix the easy fixes and sell them and...
Try pulling a 416 behind a dually with a 11.5 foot slide in camper. And yes I can back it up. No camera either. Back up slow and as soon as you see the trailer you now know where it is headed and correct accordingly.
