    M880 article and pics posted

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: M880 article and pics posted My Apologies John, We had communicated on the errors in this article last summer. You suggested that I write a correction and send it to you. Following up on and correcting those errors didn't seem like a subscriber responsibility to me.

    M880 article and pics posted

RE: Re: RE: M880 article and pics posted No I'm just saying the article has some mis-information, same as I noted when the print issue came out. Granted, I didn't spend my time writing a free correction for your magazine. (Which I pay for)I simply posted a couple of the errors on here at the time.

    m882 dataplate

Tou could get one from a junk yard or a parts truck I suppose. The data plates have the VIN , Reg # date of delivery, Model # etc, stamped into the metal. I see no way of re-stamping one either.

    Oops, I did it again.........

Well,,,,,,,,,, She is too far rusted to restore (within financial reason). I'm seriously considering a customization into an off road camper. Still an expensive process, yet things can be done cheaper when originality isn't a concern. The other option is to part it out and scrap the remains...

    M880 series pic request...

Pintle is rotating type, almost idetical to cucv & humvee unit. On the 880 the pintle is mounted where the license tag would mount on a civi truck. the tag area has rienforcing plates and the bumber brackets have an added piece of angle iron for rigidity. I will look for some pics

    Might get another M886

I was thinking the same thing about the back spacing issue, I think mcguyver used aftermarket rims. I heard somewhere that the Humvee rims will fit. These things seem to breed like rabbits around here! Recently sold a M882, Currently in the yard are 1 M880, 1 M882, 1 M884, 1 M886 and 1 79W200...

    Might get another M886

I'm thinking about getting another M886, Why? because it's there. With 2, I could keep the current one original, and make an olive drab / camo camper special put of this one. An extra leaf in the springs, all the way around and some Humvee tires? Anyone have a pic how a Humvee rim fits / works...

Improving the gas mileage of the M-880 series

While I'm sure there are a few things that can be done to improve the fuel mileage. but these things weigh well over 4000lbs, have the aerodynamics of a brick and 4.10 gearing. They could never get good mileage. I firmly believe that a small 4 barrel & a RV cam would help out. I think headers...

    Cheap M880 on Ebay!

Re: RE: Cheap M880 on Ebay! Well I gave my Dress Blues away to a new young Marine years ago. They would have needed to be let out a little anyway  I'm guessing since I'll be 47 next Friday, that the Corps isn't interested in having me back though. Anyway I just re-listed the...

    Cheap M880 on Ebay!

Yep, It went pretty cheap, except for the fact that it was a deadbeat bidder  Will be relisting it again today. Body is pretty rusted but engine & drivetrain are very good. If it wasn't so cold here now I'd part it out and scrap the rest, would net about $1000 that way. :?
