Merry Christmas to you too. My truck had both screens rusty when I got it and I too was curious how it could corrode with all the diesel soaked metal. Maybe keeping tank(s) full would prevent condensation.
Sounds like a temporary deletion/bypass will eliminate if it is the valve or it's seals/o-rings or the large rim seals. I have the rim seals but most likely will not replace them until I replace the tires. Seems these old tires are wearing fast anyway.
Which seal is it? I just recently started having a tire go down in less than a week and no sign of where anything penetrated the tire. I will just change all of them out if nice weather ever arrives. Size and p/n greatly appreciated. I havn't researched it yet since the weather hasn't been kind...
Drove an 800 series in the 80s and have a 939 series now so I'm not partial. I think the 939 series looks like a pit bull and the 800 series looks like a doberman.
Powerwashed it Monday while it was above freezing. This had to be done after driving into the fresh (still wet) brine pretreatment the state put down on the road last week while getting my last load of firewood for the Winter. It was all spashed up under the truck and trailer. It may have been...
Thank you Jbulach. I really like them M1082 trailers and of course the M929A2. I keep one trailer covered for pallets from GL and parades and the other one has a cover but I doubt I will use it as I intended that trailer to be my dirty tool/workhorse. The Amish have lenient rules on what they...
Got the last double load of free wood. I think I am good for the winter. The Amish operate that sawmill and were kind enough to give me all that wood for dealing with some sawdust and long pieces. I gotta say that all of the Amish in my area are very kind people, and far from greedy. Just gotta...
Got another freebie double load today. Wanted to get two so I could be done for the winter but the mill closed up early on me. Sure can't complain about getting free heat nuggets.
I thought the feds took over the CDL requirements and just make the states enforce them. I live in Ohio and took my CDL training in WV and my test in Ohio. So what would NV say about a non resident passing through in an M931 with a 48' trailer and just a plain ol' noncommercial lisense? I was...
It would have made too much sense to have the GPs thread into an adapter that could be removed regardless if the GPs were swollen. Overpaid pencil pushers that never had a dirty hand.
Sorry for blending a 5 ton's use with the CUCV, but on the subject of "free firewood" here's what the sawmill gave me yesterday.
Employees had been mixing stuff in the "block pile" so they wanted to clean it up and told me I can have it all. Looks like three more double loads left. Well...
It depends on how sticky it is due to wetness. Wetter is actually better. It's that "starting to dry" crap that messes you up. Our soil is brown clay once you skim off the black top couple inches. You gotta take into consideration, I am not in flat cornfield "Ohio" as most envision. One time in...
The HP and fast gain rpms of a 350 are priceless in 4-wheelin'. There is good reason for that engine's popularity. When the dirt is just sticky enough to plug up the tread on your tires (no matter how agressive the tread) you are pretty much driving on bologna skins. You need rpms to spin the...
