    Bringing to Aberdeen 2011

How much if you do it in oak? Are they painted? Is it kiln dried or green lumber?

    GL payment with paypal

If a charge fails AVS (that's where the check your address and zip code against the account info to get a better transaction rate) they may not want to lose the discount (for a couple grand charge it can be $25/$1000) so they may actually have tried, but got the transaction kicked back due to...

    Pics of the Studebaker US6

I don't think many US6's were part of the Red Ball. The Red Army maybe. The Soviet Union received almost the complete 6x6 production of 105,000 as well as the majority of the 90,000 6x4 produced. Now if you can find 3 Katyusha rocket launcher then you have my attention.

    High pitch whine above 40mph...

Deflate the tires to about 15psi (the pressure for use on sand) and see if the noise changes. I kinda doubt that road noise is going to make a high pitched whine... maybe a dull static sound.. but not high pitched. Tires should be within a a quarter inch of each other in diameter, otherwise...

    My First DEUCE!

Bunch of passive aggressive members on this board. Good luck with the new toy. Sucks that diesel is $4.50+/gal

    mechanical pipe bending machines

I believe they are called roll benders. To bend tubing cleanly you need a mandrel bender although you can get good bends with dies alone.

    Deuce axle seals

Take the OD of the seal, and the ID of the seal, also depth and how many lips. Cross reference with any number of online manufacturers parts listings.

    Insurance for M35A2 in Georgia

Most insurance agents are little more than keyboard monkeys. SO whatever they tell you, be vary wary. State Farm covers deuces for less than $200/year, under their commercial policy. Mine is a $300k/$100k policy for $89/6 mo. It clearly states the wight and that its a 'cargo truck'. They...

    High pitch whine above 40mph...

Its gear noise. Spur gears are the noisiest type of mesh and proper lube levels will help. But its simply a wear issue. The bearings (or bushings if there are any, I don't know) are worn and allow the gears to vibrate, they travel to the case which amplifies them. Noise is created by...

    My NEW jeep is ready

PM me for a link. Or search youtube for 185th (I think thats the unit). Not as good a quality, but CCKW (they were never called deuces or Jimmy's in WWII) out of the crates being assembled.

    New Purchase, M35A1

Sounds like a downshift at the start of the video. You may want to reconsider doing that anymore.. esp if you are going with taller tires. Overspeeding the engine is not healthy.... unless a jake brake or exhaust brake is installed all you are doing it spinning the motor really fast under no...

    Fuel sticker violation in NC

You really need to read up on what needs changed. The fuel tax is always there... you pay it on every gallon of fuel you buy. IFTA is the mechanism that distributes those taxes. Once you get in front of a judge you should quiet easily be able to prove that IFTA does not pertain to you...

    Fuel sticker violation in NC

My point exactly... numbers matter. Figure out how many car shows would be affected, tell the reps that your state could lose $X dollars in the local economy as more and more antique/classic owners simply stop going rather than deal with IFTA. It HAS to be about money. Thats how the system...

    Fuel sticker violation in NC

Just being realistic here... you have to get your request in front of the Federal committee that oversees IFTA. And they have to have enough clout to propose a change and have other members support it. You need to get a significant group of people together (reach out to established car clubs...

    School me on M105s

Are the cat eye lights on the rear of the older trailers the same ones as on the early deuce? I want to drop the composites and go back to the early look.

    Fuel sticker violation in NC

The MVPA is not going to do anything unless membership forces them to. Its a jeep club. How helpful was the MVPA when WISDOT was flat out refusing to register MVs there? Right now it seems that most people want a historical exemption. It doesn't seem that many M series 3 axles MVs are...

Warning when geting a Deuce from GSA

At least mutilation was not required. Part it out and get another one with a good title.

1942 Deuce, BMT, TX/ story on it?

Has some issues, and I wouldn't pay more than $3000 for it (less depending on the motor). Its missing the typical parts and those will add up quick (bed, spare tire carrier, gas tank, front frame horns and bumper). The rear is also missing the pintal, bumpers. Google earth doesn't update...

    Conservative max weight ratings

The placard ratings (speed, max load) are for OFF ROAD use. The M35 is rated for 5 tons on hard surfaced roads, but only 2.5 tons off road. Its in the TMs. If you do load up to 5 tons, tire air pressure must be adjusted appropriately.
