    Deuce lights on M105

If your going to be at Bob Evans on the 13th, I'll bring you a pair. I have lots of trailer lights.

M101 bed material - Galvanized steel, steel, or aluminum?

First off, you don't want to grind on galvanized steel. Not good for your health. Zinc is a heavy metal which will stay in the body for someone. If you need to sand flaking paint, do so lightly, then wipe the surface with vinegar. It will aid in paint adhesion.

    Won a M101A3 yeah!

Letting water in isn't a good thing, but more so allowing air to blow in while going down the road. I had a friend have a tarp on their trailer blow off right in front of me. Exciting for a few seconds. My first thought was, oh sh*t, where the heck do I go now? I replaced the tie down rope...

    Won a M101A3 yeah!

Nice trailer for not much over minimum bid. Now, before anyone else jumps you, the tarp is on backwards. The flaps should be closed to the front.

need advice, think I popped a piston :(

If you have access to a dial indicator, I'd check the lift between the pair of both intake and exhaust valves on that head. Either the cam, the lifter, or the rocker arm are going away. For now just check the lift between the two cylinders and report back.

    Flare and Repair Brake Line?

Have you attempted measuring the length of the line from the wheel cylinder to the Banjo fitting? Most auto parts stores sell tubes in various lengths. Napa sells "armored" line that has a spirial wrap around the line. You can use a tubing bender to re-route a tube that is a little too long by...

SF-97 for "Serial Number Unknown" M101A2

While some may frown on this method, you could always purchase a replacement data plate and make up your own VIN number. All too frequently items sold on Government Liquidation have no serial numbers. This might be something as simple as the data plate has been sand blasted due to use or the...

    Bad day in Oshkosh

I suspect that the former pilot will be riding a desk for the rest of his short ANG career. One of the beanie hat groups http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?p=1780869 blogging from Oshkosh reported that he landed way too long on runway 36 which is posted @ 8100'. The video posted...

    F-35, first catapult launch

Wreckerman, I wish that I could totally agree with you but our "friends" in China have a different view of the world. There are news articles of late where China has purchased former soviet block countires aircraft carriers and are refurbishing them for "scientific research" purposes. BBC News...

    F-35, first catapult launch

Was out lunch time looking at aviation videos and found this brand new one that may be of interest to the masses. This was filmed at Lakehurst New Jersey yesterday. It is not a flight simulator vid, it's the real deal.

    optional tranny for M915 series?

Not to start an argument, but Justin PM'd me back when he first got his truck about the transmission. He posted up here http://www.steelsoldiers.com/5-ton-up/60826-pushbutton-allison-m916.html#post715409 that the transmission was a MD3070PT. I still need another $1K to get the shifter for my...

    My M116A2 trailer

Nice trailer, But.............. please hook up the safety chains with the break away chain/cable. The Mil safety chains can be extended to get the correct length. It wouldn't be good so see you trailer passing you on a hill.

    How many M925A2's built in 1989 ?

If that's the case, contact BAE Systems. They "might" be able to give you production numbers. The trucks were built in Marysville Ohio.

    How many M925A2's built in 1989 ?

Could not have been too many trucks built as they (AM General) stopped production in 1989. BMY Harbsco won the production contract from AM General. I suppose that if you contact AM General, someone there probably could give you the production numbers. History | Company Information | AM General...

    Super cord for a Deuce

Grainger has EPDM 1/4" cord, though only listed in 10' lengths for $6.54. I purchased some rubber tube off eBay a while back for around $30 for a little over a 100 feet. The seller was justharris , but it also looks like he's out of stock.

    GPS Help

Purchase the unit and then carefully cut the battery case open to see what cells are inside. Once you know what cell is used, eBay has tons of US dealers selling tabbed NiMh, and Lithium Ion batteries. I purchased a Snap-On MTG2500 red brick that needed a battery which no one I could find...

    M923a1 transmission fluid?

My best educated guess would be longer service life if you change over to Dextron. ATF has better heat transfer properties than engine oil, plus most ATF contains friction modifiers which engine oil doesn't.
