MRAP wheels and tires on a deuce?

That's no fair! Your using hydraulic power instead of pure bull energy. I wish I had access to the backhoe pictured. It would make life much easier for tire replacement.

    optional tranny for M915 series?

Mike, I believe Justin's truck has the MD3070PT just like the new 5 ton trucks. I purchased one via GL a while back with plans of running it in a M35 A3 or possibly a 923/925 series truck. I purchased the trans computer for a grand and still need the shifter, another grand or so.

    Won a M101A3 yeah!

As long as your lowboy trailer doesn't have sides, loading it will be straight forward. A small chain between the rear tow hooks, them your winch cable attached to the chain and the trailer should pull straight up the ramps. I have inserted a 2x3 in the lunette and used that as a "wheel" to...

    Won a M101A3 yeah!

Well drgreg, I have no personal knowledge of the OP's trailer, but I was present at a local GL location with Atankersdad, Powerhousedeuce and one of his friends and observed a forktruck operator break off not one but 4 lights in a row. When it was my turn for loadout, I jumped in and moved my...

    Won a M101A3 yeah!

The hanging light is a Government Liquidation extra special feature. They break them off with regularity with fork trucks. (In reality, they don't give a crap and never learned how to operate a fork truck without banging things up.) Pay close attention to the fenders on your trailer when you...

Help! I'm burning up coils in my M43!!

Before you fry another coil you need to verify the voltage being output by the generator. I don't know if the original system used a resistor or resistor wire to reduce the voltage to the coil after the engine warms up. Provided that you are getting close to 12.5 volts, I'd purchase a Chrysler...

Just Won M101A2, no EUC needed

It's an early A2 box(no bed stiffeners) with Hummer wheels and rubber. The tires are a tight fit but look good tucked inside the fender wells. You done good Grasshopper for your first purchase.

    DoD approves new CARC Specs

I used to work with the guy in-charge of ARL that John reports to, Mike Maher. I've talked with them a couple of months back about the state of mil-spec coatings as well as this specification for powder coatings. You will never be able to apply powder coatings on fiberglass parts (hoods and...

    difference?????

As for using A2 landing gear on an A3, anything is adaptable with enough time and money. Just remember that the A3 has a surge brake coupler mounted where the A2 gear mounted, so it will have to be mounted further to the rear. The wheels from an A2 or that matter any deuce wheel will bolt on...

    m116A2 shock absorber part number

I'm at work using my phone to reply. The info you need for the shock is posted, just go Monroe's website, download the shock catalog, and search for a shock with the correct ends and compressed and overall length. I have a file at home with shocks, brakes and bearing part numbers, just not...

    New Trailer

You can thank the Great State of California for no non-CARB Jerry cans. Once the fruits and nuts banned the sale of non-vapor, non-spill cans the end was in sight. I was lucky enough to get a 12 pack of NATO cans from Coleman's a few years back as well as finding some NOS Jerry cans. I'm set...

    Any Source for Shrink Tape?

For large aircraft engine wiring harness repair we use Mox-Tape by Arlon. Kiepura Aviation - Suppliers of Aircraft Maintenance Tape is one of the distributor's. It's good from -65F to +500F. Mox-Tape is silicone based and has a tri-angle profile so that when applied it rests flat.

    Lowering an M101A2

Chief Looked at one of my M101 trailers this evening, and it's not possible to mount the axle above the springs and have any clearance between the axle and frame when you put a load on the trailer. With no load, there is 5" between the frame and the top of the springs. My axle measures 3.5"...

    Lowering an M101A2

Clearances get tight between the axle and frame when you move the axle to the top of the springs. I'm not sure, but I think longer spring shackles will work. When I get home I'll verify and post back.

    CUCV's And CARC

Ding, ding, ding, ........we have a winner! I've been testing using CARC since 1986 when it first made it's way onto weapons systems. The issue with CARC is/was the isocynates and the older primers used due to lead and chrome. Don't eat, drink, or smoke in the area where you are working...

    Possible Upgrade for A3? 3176 cat( 330 hp )

The 3116 CAT's big brother is the 3126 rated at 330 hp. Without doing some research, I think you might have miss-read the nomenclature. While HP is nice, the A3 is limited not by HP but RPM.
