If the sticker is stillin truck check on the drivers side of the engine bay, both mine (M1009's) have the build sticker on the top of the fender well. The ONLY guarenteed location is as WESTECH pointed out, under the windshield driver's side.
I think if I read his original post he stated the VIN...
I don't think the tires are directional. I think they would have arrows on they, like the V-rated directionals on the vettes, bmeer's and the like. These tires put a lot more stress on the "old" suspension parts. check the kingpins, bushings, steering stabilizer, etc.
A little wornout part...
Did you get the tire shop to balance the wheel/tire? I just bought some 37x12.5x16.5 HUMMV "takeoffs" I have'nt mounted them yet, still loking for steel 16.5 rims. If yours balance out, them start looking into suspension issues.
Have you tried replicating the problem in a lower gear. Same engine rpm's, slower speed... see if its a transmission problem or engine problem. I would think if you replicate in 2nd with same rpm's it would be an engine issue. If not it could possibly be a trans problem....
These are not...
I spent the money and put an alarm on mine with an ignition kill. If, WHEN they get in they will first deal with the chain on the steering wheel, if they breach that they will dealing with no key, no crank. I don't want some slimeballl cranking the starter into oblivion trying to start it. I...
Tim,
Sounds like she needs to get herself a good mechanic friend she can call.......... But only if you're not around!!!!
Seriously, I bet if you had been there and she decided to "jump in" and go for a drive, it would of never happened.
Sounds like the Gremlins are alive and well
I also don't recall a first aid kit mounted in a M1009. I think maybe in the ambulance variant and I'm almost sure we had them in track vehicles.
I do however remember the "PAD in bag" that we all carried on our shoulder, LBE.
WOW never thought it would weigh that MUCH!!!!
guess you might want to lift the body.... drop the engine in and just take a torch to whatever gets in the way putting the body back on LOLrofl
probably want to put the duece axles under it as well.....
Who was the first to BOB a duece and WHY did they do it????
because someone told them it wasn't possible....
Come on Guys, the American GI was, and in most cases still the most "creative" indivuals on the earth!!! I say CARRY ON !!!!
Remember the stories about the Jeeps that got "repowered"...
And the naysayers called "them" crazy when "they" announced "they" were headed for the MOON.....
DO IT just because it was said you couldnt or wouldnt!!!!
I would guess its the dried out rubber seals that is scratching the glass. I haven't found anything to repair, I am considering putting some tint on mine, but not sure if the scratches will show through.
Maybe that headlight lens repair stuff would work??
The Duece is a duece, the M1009 is a M1009, built for distinctly different missions in the military.
The duece is not a "practical" daily driver, unless you drive in open fields, not around other civvy vehicles, and parking in a parking garage or on a downtown street would be a new experience...
O.k. I apparently got left out of the "BAT Signal" when this thread started!!!!!
I'm in, I'll have at least 1 - M1009..... picking up #2 this weekend, but not sure it'll be in "show mode" that quick.... or have a way to haul/drive both.
It's springbreak timeframe (14 Mar -18Mar) around Houston...
I've been considering doing the side post pod build. I am looking for a dual or triple pod. I haven't found anything for this year truck, I figure get something close and let epoxy, fiberglass or duct tape do the rest!!!
I need to get a Db meter and check mine out... I don't feel that it's really that loud on the freeway with windows up......
Maybe I'm just a little more "hard of hearing" than I think????
What??? I couldn't hear yourofl
