    m1009 vibration

    truck revs on its own

DITTO !!! X10..... Last thing you want to do is deal with a runaway diesel while trying to STOP!!!! Try the TM troubleshooting sections.... Unhook the throttle cable from the IP and rev by hand, have some one in truck to shutdown if it begins to runaway, or be prepared to pull the wire off...

    somebody let the smoke out

Bizarre!!! Did you let your dog possibly urinate on a tire while you weren't watching???? without applying power to the solenoid it is just a "dumb" switch, maybe you had some furry visitors while you let it sit NEGLECTED..... for the last several months????? Sell it, Buy a PRIUS, and at least...

    M1009 Planned Maintenance

It's a twenty five (plus) year old vehicle..... There are too many things to list. Have you done a PMCS per the -10, -20? Do those and that's a good starting place. The water pump is a comfort thing.... If it's not weeping, then it's good. The harmonic balancer is really a good idea, but again...

    cucv tires

Spends more time on-road than off so far!!! I love the tires, VERY quite. So far offroad, I've never been stuck, but I really haven't gotten into the GOOD stuff. The 33's are "limited" run tires, I think because of the 15" rim size. I believe the 16's, 17's are more readily available. My...

    How to soften ride?

I think the M1008 probably has a "helper" leaf. If you take that out, you could soften the ride. The truck is designed to carry a load. I have a '08 GMC 3500, that beats me to death when empty. If I load the bed, or put the gooseneck on, the ride softens considerably. So maybe put 10,000 rounds...

    cucv tires

I have Toyo Open Country on mine 33x12.5x15's M/T's. They are a GREAT tire. 33x15's are back ordered at the moment, but the Metric sizes 275, 295 are readily available.

  18. OL AG '89

    breaks

DITTO!!! How much rust is on this truck? I have NEVER heard of one the hard lines blowing.... the rubber lines are much more likely to blow unless the hard lines are trashed inside and out. The TM -34P should have the line sizes listed as well as parts numbers needed to replace.
  19. OL AG '89

    Overfilled my 1008 transmission

How much overfill? Did you start it or drive it after you did it? bring it back to the correct level, should be fine.
  20. OL AG '89

A couple electrical issues with M1009

If the truck isn't dling fast enough the lights will stay on, at least that's as I understand the circuit. read through the troubleshooting section and you'll find several things to check. Done in the correct order you will avoid buying additional uneeded parts.
