The problem with Idaho is that everyone is at each corner of the state. Here on the east side we do have a data base as to who has what.
Boise is the better place to be for MV's and Alex's show every June in Fruitland.
I did not make it down to the shop to see the actual damage. It was at the CASE-IH tractor dealership, and the mechanic that worked on it was an former Marine who worked on the 800 series while in the service.
He said it felt like "old times"
The spindle did get dinged up which he filed out...
I hate to admit that it was actually the bearings going dry. I had purchased the truck last spring, and maybe put on 1500 miles without any indication.
Needless to say we will service both sides.
Now, what about my other 4 - 800 series. Hey, I haven't looked at my M-37 for a while...
Here in Idaho, it actually takes a Federal IRS agent to dip a tank.
I did get pulled over by the ITD boys last fall and they raised hell with me on my combined axle weight on my M-812 bridge trucks as the axles are a little forward for the GVW of 54,000 lbs.
What I felt was the loss or drain of power. I was going about 45 mph before, and then I was doing good to go 35 mph due to the drag. No pulling to the side or shimmy.
Having that happen is about the last thing you think would go wrong on a trip.
I will keep you posted as we tear into this...
Took the M-819 out today, hooked up to the M-270 lowboy trailer and loaded up a 170hp tractor and headed south 30 miles to the dealership. About 75,000 gvw.
About half the way there, I could feel something strange going on, we finally stopped and the smoke was rolling out from the front right...
Mighty Hammer,
I just clicked back on Sportsman Guide this tuesday evening, and it stated that they were sold out.
Items like this, everytime I waited, -" the ship sailed, and I'm still standing on the dock"
This is my first CUCV ( maintainence truck) and first 6.2. These things do not have an overdrive transmission and while it is cold it is really noisey. I can take it up to about 55 mph, and then when it warms up it will cruise up to about 65 mph.
You keep thinking it will shift into...
If you have the canvas laid forward onto the hood and start working the welting into the awning channel.
If it is tight, you may want to spread the groove, but do it evenly all the way across.
If that is the way it is, how your welting interfaces into the channel, then it should not be...
We got the gen-set to operate on our new contract maintainence truck. We brought it up to proper speed manually and it put out the proper voltage.
When we inspected the governor, someone had disconnected the linkage from the gov to the throttle and it is missing one end. However we could...
I have a lot better luck throwing away the 4 6TL batteries and going with 2 Group 31 batteries.
2 group 31's are what is used in most of our ag tractors.
Trying to keep 4 batteries up to par is the pits. Maintaining 2 is half the chore.
Just be sure to secure the batteries properly.
I run 5 -...
Just new to the CUCV series. Is there any place to find a 12v source other than tapping into one side of the batteries ?? Need to install a 2 way radio. Tom
Seems like every MV owner in Idaho is half a state away from each other. It sounds like the Twin Falls Jeep Club put togeather an impressive showing at the Twin Falls Air Show.
We are trying to get the eastern Idaho owners togeather each year at the Legacy Flight Museum air show in Rexburg...
I am from eastern Idaho, and have attend just one of Alex's military shows. I ended up buying an M-819 wrecker that Alex had put togeather for a gentleman in California.
What Alex says, I take for gospel. One heck of a nice guy.
