The arm folds open and locks out. As best as it can for what it is. So if you push on the cab it’s locked open. And to start closing it, takes hyd action to pull the cab and arm back.
The cab brace should fold out and lock when the cab is fully open. I had a truck that was giving me hyd function issues I swapped the control box and all was good. I had planned on taking the bad one apart and see what was going on with it but haven’t gotten to it.
It shouldnt. It could just be a stored error that will self clear over time. There are wheel sensors that detect slip, some valves on the frame rail and the brain behind the cab.
There are 2 filters in the control box on top there are hex head covers that come off and then the filters unscrew and come out. The parts tm shows the breakdown of the control box. There are 2 different styles. Again any water in the system will cause issues like you are having.
On the c7 you might be able to read abs codes with a heavy truck reader. 3126 not sure there may be a separate diag port for it. The module by the air/hyd pump. I think there is a breaker for it in the panel.
The fan solenoid is normally closed which keeps the fan on. Unplugging it should keep the fan on. Sounds like an electrical issue. Maybe a ground somewhere.
Unfortunately with the electronic cat, diagnosis can be tricky without specific equipment. An off the shelf heavy duty vehicle code reader will pull basic codes. Some trucks have a power line filter on the supply to the engine computer. Seen those go bad. May pop a breaker in the panel. If the...
I have not seen non mil ones. But I do believe it can be rebuilt by a heavy equip shop. I have some used ones. There are 2 different types. They changed around 1997.
It is supposed to be a 40/60 power split and in regular mode the two driveshafts can spin at different speeds so you dont get binding when turning on hard surfaces. If the front axle has no traction in regular drive mode the rears will not spin. Figured this out one day when unloading from a...
Right side of the air tanks is a pressure protection valve that feeds the cab air level system. The air hyd functions are fed from a different air source. Check make sure the ppv is opening.
They made an interface box. It goes between the controller and harness. You can see they are programming a newer gen controller not the one on the truck itself. The Dana software can be downloaded for free.
