Not all alternators are compatible with the newer charge systems. Is it a recent problem or it has always been a problem? If its not an alternator or connection issue its usually the lbcd.
The robo impact is good for humvee lugs thats about it. I have a big milwaukee fuel cordless impact that can usually do the lmtv lugs. If they are over torques I have a big ingersoll air gun. But the harbor freight 3/4 air gun does work well. Its a copy of the big ingersoll.
If its cold out and you have some moisture in the system it can freeze up and cause the same non releasing brakes. Sometimes letting the truck run and really warm up will defrost it.

The lube turns into hard pieces and gets stuck in places. I would start with seeing if there is air going from the compressor to the air dryer. Small steps.
If the air compressor is indeed not making pressure I would check the governor first. Its mounted on the compressor. And the unloader could be stuck open. The lubricant can harden over time and cause issues. The unloader can be rebuilt without removing the compressor. Its a dual piston...
