that's a good idea, whoever owns it. i have been given, for free, lots of old equipment and stuff because i tell them i am going to use it as opposed to it just rusting away or being sold for scrap. problem is you have to act interested in it and they they may see $$ signs, that's when i say...
thanks hank, problem is that these sites are for gas engines and get crazy results for big slow turning diesels. i have some more engine specs, but it gets very complicated. i was hoping there might be someone here with design experiance.

Does anyone have a lot of knowledge designing and sizing turbos? I have a 9.0 litre diesel that will not be run at 2500 rpm in a m-35, and want to choose two water cooled turbos for it. I do not want any more than 8 psi boost. i know there are many other input criteria and i am working to get...
either way your issue is probably related to the dogs on the gear and hub being worn off. that puts lots of metal in the oil so check everything else closely.
i don't see where you say how much smoke it makes and what color it is. too much fuel and not enough air will give high egt and black smoke. bypassing the fdc is a good idea, but you have to be real careful and probably turn the fuel down when done. usually that will result in higher fuel rate...
main shaft comes out easily with trans in truck. also counter shaft. what you cannot do is remove the input shaft without pulling the trans. now is a good time to upgrade the overdrive. LDS would have come with a trans that will not fit the deuce unless it has already been swapped.
this should be taken as what it really says. it would at max fuel rate continuously. not the way it is driven. it still takes the same amount of fuel to move a given load at a given speed, other inefficiencies being the same.
The worst thing you will have to do is pull the pump off and put it in oil and turn it to see how it pumps. I mean see what is in and what is out. There are 2 suctions and 2 discharges since one is a scavenger like a dry sump system. I assume the drive idler gear is there?
never mind. good find!
i am convinced that with just the fuel turned up, a ldt will put out 200 hp. the lds -2 had 14 psi boost while the ldt only had 9. i have had both and cannot tell the differance when a ldt also has 14.
you are never going to get the pressures you say you need, the pump just is not large enough. that is why that type of filter is sized to the engine not the other way around as you are doing.
if you have a turbo engine, 10 psi may be ok for idle, but certainly not for driving. the piston coolers turn on only above 15 psi, and you want at least twice that for driving. if i drove only 4000 miles a year, i would only change the oil every 3 years.
the shut off sel only allows the fuel rack to go to full fuel, so if an injection pump is stuck, the rack will not move, and it will stay at off. conversly the sel forces the rack to go to no fuel (well, tries to force it). the easiest way to check this is to remove a injector line from top of a...
number one rule> take the top off the trans, it will come out and go in so much easier and you can fill it with oil also. my HF trans jack is the 2000 lb model and it goes up far enough and will roll out from under the truck also, well worth the $200.
put the transfer in neutral and the inter...
and all of you still live in CT? what is wrong with you! move! as a side note, how long can you get away with out of state plates? ever wonder why you see so many Maine plates on big trailers? i ran Maine plates for 3 years because Maryland would not register a truck from Germany. now it is...
this is all from memory. on ldt there are 2 pickups, one from the rear which is just a scavenger pump to move oil from the rear to the front sump and one from the front to pump oil to the engine. so there needs to be a discharge on the pump to dump the oil in the front sump. maybe that is your...
