They might just want to hold onto them. Last I checked AM General doesnt even make the rear x-doors anymore, and they only make the fronts in very limited runs.
Yep, I was thinking the exact same thing. The only reason why I mentioned the flow being low was because without knowing the internal design of the cadillac valve, low flow out of the bleeder COULD be an indication of low pressure. I suppose that depends on how much restriction there is, since...
Okay, I'll have to measure the output (just need to buy some fittings). I suspect its not putting out enough PSI based on my troubleshooting. Also the flow out of the bleeder valve seems a little slow, not what you'd expect for 120 PSI.
I have no other symptoms. Power steering is good and...
My fan clutch is also stuck on, and I've tried a lot of the troubleshooting steps, but no luck yet. So I figured I would rehash this thread rather than making a new one.
I already replaced the TDM and confirmed that I have 28v going to the cadillac valve.
I also disconnected the hose going...
Okay, my little 2 wires are 57R and 599C, so same circuit as your 2 little wires.
Again, the big wire is labeled 290/291 and thats what was disconnected on mine. I hooked it up to 12v and my transmission started working (and the trans light started working as well).
IF you decide to try this...
Without the tag I can't say for certain. But mine looks exactly like yours with the one big wire and 2 small wires. It was the big one that was disconnected. If you give me a minute I can check the tags on the 2 little wires.
Its your truck though, I'm just same random guy on the internet and...
You're lucky they even installed batteries! Mine had NO air filter installed, and the alternator only had one bolt installed. The seats were held in with gravity and good luck.
The people "working on" these trucks simply do not care what your experience is lol.
The thick wire thats taped off....pull off the tape and look for a tag that says 290/291.
Thats what was disconnected on mine. Connect it to the 12v tap (pos terminal of rear battery).
I think they just dont bother hooking that up when they install the cheap batteries on auction trucks.
When this happened to mine, it was a broken wire resulting in no power to the TCM. Fixed that and it shifted fine.
Do you have a trans light when in the run position with the engine stopped?
@jake20 did you notice when drilling the holes for the hinges that the fiberglass is actually hollow in some spots? Mine was, and actually slightly cracked in one spot when I tightened the bolts. On all of the real xdoors I've looked at they were solid.
I would think that if you dont care about the ballistic protection you can probably just flip it around. My only concern would be if the inside surface is less abrasion resistant you might not want it facing outwards where the wipers etc will be causing wear.
