Seem's Stacey David's Gearz on the Speed Channel wants to put my M211 on their "what are you working on" portion of the TV show at the end. Was told it will be on an unspecified episode on the new upcoming season.
So set your boxes to record folk's. A great show to watch anyway! When I find...
Talk about compressors! A few day's ago I just received my mini air brush compressor kit in the mail so I can start spraying gunstock finishes for my customers. I have already torn into it for my own "beef up" mods to make it last as long as possible. Sourced replacement "oiless" piston rings...
I never get tired of your posts Butch, no punctuation and lots of ordnance #'s. Good catch on the deflectors. They are are simple design with a simple purpose but making a repro set would be nearly impossible as they are stamp formed.
Okay!!! Finally had a few min to post the pictures! I do not have time to cover reassembly right now. Just follow the pics in reverse order and it will go back together just fine.
Cleaning/Reassembly Tips
-The end cap's use paper gaskets. I just sealed them back on with a thin bead of RTV...
-Next remove the top plate and 2 tiny screws.
-Remove this screw
-Remove 2 screws and windshield mounting bracket. Note the orientation of all the flat and spring washers, I try to put them on in the same order they were removed
-Cracked rubber O ring, replace this
-Pull the manual control...
Each paragraph corresponds with each picture from L to R
-Here is our candidate. Full of rock hard grease, leaky gaskets and plugged inlet and exhaust ports. They are very easy to fix!
-First remove the inlet hose barb and exhaust fitting
-Remove these 6 machine screws
-Gently pull the left...
Give me a couple hours and I will post up my Wiper Motor Service thread here. They are really easy to troubleshoot. Quick fact: This model of wiper motor made by Trico Folberth was used as far back as 1920!
WHOA! What the heck are the vents on the dashboard? I know about the under dash defroster vents that were used on the U.S trucks. Looks like the Canadians took it one step further and added more vents on top of the dash to really reduce the windshield fog on those extreme winter day's. Darn...
Yes. International item TO YOU. Foreign to me. I am foreign. Not you. I want my MC. :cookoo:
Your parts guy sounds friggin cool, please keep us updated with what you find!! Feel free to post it in this thread too.
Well we have 114 degree summers but yes, I do plan to post up how to make a harness and push button switch outta nothing. This places carries a good selection of relay's.

Promise me that if you ever swing through Yuma you will give me a shout here. I would love get drool all over your M35, show you my XM211 and drink a few brews while we're at it. I'm a lone steel soldier down here!!!!!
Much obliged, Jim. But All I need is the tranny to transfer driveshaft shaft assembly. Actually I can cut/reweld the 3 driveshafts that must be shortened/lengthened but I'll be taking them in to be professionally re-balanced.
If your parts truck has them I could really use a coolant temp...
The truck is staying 24V and I am going to make a harness for the glow plug's. Although in reality, I should only need them a few times out of the year because it never gets below 40 here.
Good Find, Dave! There is also Brake Systems Inc here in the U.S that rebuilds them and stocks parts...
For those who are unfamiliar with the 6.2's fuel inlet/outlet system. It is very simple. Fuel runs from the stock in tank pump, through the stock fuel line on the frame rail under the steering box where it stops at the shutoff cock. Run a hard line from this cock to a good firewall mounted...
Both of you goofy Canadians are going to make me pee myself I am laughing so hard. Mock my words, Seatyger, M1010Plowboy, Gunfreak25 and Stan Leschart will meet up in the next year or two for some 6x6 action and elbow bending.
Well I got dooped. I sent payment for a York 210 compressor in January and never received the compressor. Now the guy ignores my emails and phone call's. Oh well. Move on.
Found another York 210 for a few bucks more but it is complete down to the fittings (hard to get) and clutch. Probably...
Not in a hurry on the GMC, in a hurry to get work done indoors. It will be weeks before I can get back to it but the good side of it is, when I do I should be able to knock a whole bunch of stuff off the to do list.
Forgot to add. The shift tower is only temporarily mounted to the frame with welded on brackets to keep it in position. A custom cradle will be fabbed up utilizing 2 bellhousing bolts and some of the Np231 bolts to secure the shift tower solidly to the powertrain. I think this will provide a...
Okay, playing hookie from the workbench to post up a few pics and a little pic info for Digger Dave, we know he gets a wad in his panties when pictures don't get posted. As he always say's, "document everything!!". From L to R:
-Tcase moved back
-Showing Np231
-Two flat bars made to extend...
