That is a better price than the NOS weatherstripping for the M35 series. So yes, I would go for it. Otherwise I used peel and seal foam all around my cab alongside a good quality latex based calking. The trim around the door glass on the roof panels are adjustable, what I mean is the rubber that...
I estimated the cost to get the average GMC fully mechanically sound again to be around $3000 easy and not counting cosmetics. These trucks are just simply getting old and in the next few years I think parts will be nearing CCKW status as far as availability. But, for every year they age I love...
What's this? I just watched the news and it looks like Edmonton is due for more blizzards and ball freezing frost. Better get out the sandals dave, I miss my beer buddy.
Moved the Tcase back today. I can't believe how easy it went, now to make "adapters" to reconnect all the linkages, a few brackets and take measurements for the local driveshaft shop to modify the old shafts for length.
Pictures in the coming day's showing the details as well as dimensions for...
I've always been fascinated by torque dynamics and this online calculator is really cool. It tells you the recommended torque and max torque for any given bolt as well as the clamping force you can expect. It has both SAE and Metric tables.

As others have posted, the first time the paint gets wet it may "streak" which will wrench your stomach at first. However, after a few washdowns it does eventually go away as do the "soap bubbles". I must stress the importance of letting the paint dry 3 to 4 weeks before getting it wet. Scuffs...
Sorry for the lack of updates, I have been really busy. I had a little free time this evening, it's 1AM now and I just came in for the night. The Np231 is in the truck and I have new problems.
My measurements were off, just too many variables to initially take into account for length. I need 4...
A true act of charity should remain anonymous, or else it is not charity anymore. Therefore, I will just post the following excerpt from a book I was reading this evening and how it pertains to M1010Plowboy. A darn true friend who it has been an honor knowing. And I quote:
"There is nothing...
Already been done! You sure have been getting a lot of wheel time in the GMC.

Now that is a Military truck, the NDCC's look so much better. I guess part of me likes them just because everyone say's they are unsafe and obsolete. Gotta love shorts and sandals too!
Well I don't see anything pertaining to just motor removal, but there are 30 mother frickin bolts holding the flywheel to the driving torus (torque converter).
Are you just removing the motor and leaving the tranny in? If so, did you remove the torque converter bolts from the flywheel?
Let me grab the good book from the truck and get back with you in a sec...
I recall seeing some 6.2 or 6.5 motors on GL with heat shields on the headers. Were these standard on all HMMWV's? Just a 6.2 or 6.5 thing? I think they look great and take some heat off the GP wires which is always a good thing.
