m105 help needed on the road

m105 help needed on the road

I have a crappy blackberry curve or I would do some research and read the tm on this because I'm sure the answer is there... Can I adjust my m105s brakes without pulling the drum and hub? I'm driving my deuce and trailer to the butler bantam fest today and for the first time I hooked up the...

what kind of pyrometer are you using?

Ordered and installed this 24V pyrometer: http://www.auberins.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=230 I set the high limit alarm at 1150F. I installed the probe in the manifold just above the turbo, in the rear portion of the collector, where EGT is reported to be highest. I'm really happy with it.

Refer to the highlighted and underlined part of my first post, which addresses that.

Going to live in my deuce in Oklahoma....

My second year of college I REALLY considered living out of my 89 Jeep cherokee so I could save some money, and I even went as far as building a bed in the back with roll out drawers under it and things like that. Then I got lucky and found a room in a shared house with some class mates for...

    Fine thread bolts vs coarse

Course thread here also. This is what I was told: If you want to put it together once and never take it apart, then fine thread. If you plan on taking it apart again and again for maintenance or whatever, then course thread.

    Turbo Exhaust Sealing Area Dimensions

I see 1150F just above the turbo in the exhaust manifold all the time. I can't expect the temperature to be significantly less at the turbo exhaust. I need a good laser thermometer to check it out.

    Turbo Exhaust Sealing Area Dimensions

I had a new mil-spec gasket, but the thin metal is just too thin. I thought I looked at all the available RTVs and none were rated for high enough temp (1250F max). If the copper works I will give it a try though. Edit: just looked it up and the copper is rated for 700F max intermittent...

    Turbo Exhaust Sealing Area Dimensions

I recently changed all the seals around my turbo when I installed a pyrometer, and on the turbo exhaust connection, there is a thin metal ring gasket that goes in the connection to the exhaust pipe that is clamped together. This thin metal ring is not cutting it for me, leaking quite a bit, so...

Adding spout to 55 gallon steel barrel.

I added a shower drain to the bottom of a barrel and plumbed it from there.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Now don't every one rush out and get one of those at once. I have owned several of those plastic battery disconnect switches over the years and have had a lot of problems with the majority of them. The worst case was when it limited current flow to my vehicle from the battery when it was on...

    Turbo oil return hose

I had to replace my turbo drain hose. It is a 1" ID silicone hose rated for high temp oil. A hose rated for coolant won't last long there. I found a common 4" long Cummins replacement that just barely is long enough to work: Cummins #3818267 - Cost about $20 at a big truck repair shop and...

    found a M35A2

its definitely not going to spin them like a built bogger with a big block, but it will haul 5 tons of groceries home and out live you and your children if properly cared for, so there are trade-offs.

    found a M35A2

maybe it had something to do with the 18 year olds turning the fuel up without regard and driving the trucks like they stole them? I would disregard pretty much everything he said. In the mud, what do you want to do? It is certainly geared low enough to spin the tires through anything, just...

    military convoy

I pulled out of a gas station and my friend's M818 was following me. We stopped at a light and looked behind us and there was a humvee and 2 FMTVs with some national guard guys. We had to pull over a short ways down the road to fix something and they gave us a WTH? look when they passed us...

    Gasoline with 10% Ethanol

I have used kero in the past also and found no difference. For some reason, in my area, they really keep an eye on the kero pumps, and I definitely can't pump it right into my truck. I only have one blue can, and a bunch of red ones, so I can't fill the red ones of course since they're not...
