Has anyone come up with an alternative place to mount the tool rack? I put on a second fuel tank and I wanted to mount the rack and tools somewhere on the truck again.
Back of the tailgate would be cool, but swinging down they would get smashed.
I've seen the rack on one side of the fuel tank...
A member of the local MVPA chapter has purchased a WC51 from Russell's Military Vehicles in Cairo GA and he is in need of transportation. He has had bad luck with conventional methods so I offered to post here for him.
I believe it is 7 foot wide and 14 foot long. Not very tall with the...
My working wiring diagram for 3 battery and 12V alternator is posted in this thread: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?77429-12v-alt-wiring-diagram
Updated with more info below:
Mine just randomly wouldn't work yesterday. I checked power, tried wiggling them, eventually after walking away and coming back again they worked fine. Anyone have the same issue?
He has 25 volts and change coming out of the alternator, the truck turns off and re-starts, nothing is smoking, the batteries have 25 volts and change as well. We shut it off and it re-starts. I looked under the dash and found nothing cooked. Not sure what else to do here other than tell him...
He is on his way to my place. I will check alternator output first. Anything special there? If it is dead there are two local alternator shops we can hit. I also downloaded the 939 wiring schematic P2P program, sweet!
One of our local jeep offroad club members helped him put two batteries in, the truck started, but it isn't charging, and I guess he was going to hit the road when our club member had to go back to work. I live about 40 miles east of where he broke down on Rt 70 so if he makes it this far he can...
There are several options for adding a muffler but I went the quick, easy, and cheap way with this pretty much bolt on set-up that fits behind the stock heat shield and eliminated the need for ear protection:
Jeggs: Moroso 94052 muffler $50
Napa: Two 3.5" muffler clamps $8...
Napa did have it for $20 a foot, 2" I believe, and the counter man said that's just ridiculous and sold it to me for $15 a foot. One foot gives me enough to do the two hoses on the oil cooler line and the two hoses on the manifold lines.
I'm not running coolant leak free. Woohoo!
Here is the M416 / M416A1 technical manual: http://www.ih8mud.com/tech/pdf/trailer/m416.pdf
If you go to page 76 and read on it has specific instructions for the M416A1 cable and some illustration.
Hope this helps.
I was really hoping to make this one but I haven't had time to start my spring maintenance until this past weekend and I've got some work to do. Both hub boots blown out is the main thing keeping me from going offroading. I hope to make it to Ruasch with the truck one of these times!
