So this is a pretty big deal……………….
This announcement marks a big anniversary…………….. 10 years of the Ga. Rally. How many of you can believe we've done this for 10 years?
In 2006, the HMV hobby was growing fast. The govt. was surplussing a lot of M35A2s and CUCVs and this allowed a lot of...
I bought all of them at Napa. They're all standard straight hoses other than the lower. I trimmed a little off the lower and it fit fine. The Napa # is in the deuce civvy cross reference spreadsheet that's stickied at the top of this forum.
I would do ALL the hoses. Every single one. Do it...
This. A thousand times.
We did this to a deuce. Started with a standard 6hp 60 gallon compressor. Quickly gave up and rented a trailer mounted diesel compressor.
You need MAD volume to run a sandblaster.
If some of you are asking questions waiting for the OP (Santa) to answer, you will be waiting a while. Unfortunately Ernie passed away a couple years ago. If anyone else has done some of the mods he did, please feel free to continue this thread with your experiences.
Thanks
Wanna' see a neat trick?
Look at your pictures above............... see how the open end of the base is facing forward?
Unbolt the base, flip it 180° so the closed end faces forward and not only does it bolt into all the existing holes in the floor, but it clears the master cylinder access...
Isn't that just the military's registration #?
This article pertains to the M44 series trucks, but the description of the registration numbers is still valid for this discussion...
A.
For the price, I don't think you can do better than Jatonka's boots. Sure, if you have some camvas laying around you can make them, but what's your time worth?
B.
Both sets I've bought had the rings, although I thought the rings weren't the best fit (but I've never had a truck that had an...
That looks like a traffic accident, whereas most of the other incidents have been mechanical issues of varying sorts (wheels falling off, dukw sinking when it dies in a commercial traffic lane and is struck by an unmanned barge, etc.).
Thank you to R4x4 and Porky for answering so quickly. :)
Beretta and others: Yes, the rally is in full swing for 2016. This is a big deal: It's our 10th official Ga. Rally. The dates are Oct. 19-23, 2016.
We are finishing up the artwork for the 2016 shirts and as soon as it's done...
That is a phenomenally good thread (on the rebuild, I haven't finished the install thread). It was very gracious of you to take the time to document the process and of Moses to answer all those questions.
Every Jeep, whether it's the MB/GPW, the MC or MD series, all have sloppy steering boxes...
Expert backing director. :)
The rearview mirror on a DUKW is the most worthless thing I've ever seen. Like "man in flip flops" kind of useless. Don't even know why they bothered.
First, don't apologize for bumping old threads. You're using the site exactly like it's supposed to be used.
In answer to your question: Yes and no (yes on grinding, no on damage. Here's what is happening:
With the engine running, transmission in neutral and clutch released (pedal out)...
Not saying I'm not impressed, but I'm a little worried about Coffey1. I don't wanna' see a thread saying to send wishes to him in the hospital because he went 168 hours without sleep.
If your current guage is mechanical, don't get your hopes up. You absolutely should check the pressure with a 2nd gauge, but don't expect much difference.
What you need to do is have a machine shop check the crankshaft, they can tell you if it is worn out enough to need to be turned undersize...
You meant 1986 and newer.
Also, older than..... I think it's 1963 and they flat out will not issue a title, even if you have a current one from another state.
This was a fun event last year. My Dad and I got there at the very end, but there were a few 6x6's and a handful of Jeeps. Not a big event, but small and personable.
