I have used the speedometer shop that's there in Roswell, but I can't remember the name of the place. I think it's these guys:

Any speedo shop that can rebuild old school mechanical speedos should be able to build you an adapter if the military one proves to be...
The M38A1 wiring harness is very similar to the M38.
You need to get your 24V test light or multimeter and follow the electricity.
Start at the 2nd battery, where the positive cable runs to the starter and simply work your way down the line. Is there 24V at the terminal? If so, go to the...
I bought mine on eBay for about $50 shipped. I don't see any available now. My next try would be White Owl in North Carolina.
I've checked my speedo against a GPS speedo app and it's within a mile an hour of accurate with my G177s.
I've always put my images on Photobucket-I have dozens of albums and something like 10,000 images hosted there. It's free (I think I have a grandfathered account or something because I have another photobucket account for one of my businesses and it's severely restricted in terms of...
With one big exception.............. trailer brake controllers.
I think the best choice for our vehicles is every accessory 24V: my worklights, back up lights, rear winch, etc. are all 24V. That way you can feed off the factory battery bank and alternator.
And stuff like cell phone/GPS...
Those 18K lb winches are pretty big..... I just put one on the rear of my M35A2C for self recovery and pulling dead vehicles onto trailers.
I'm not sure how you'd get it on a HMMWV and make it look normal.
I am really sorry you had to go through all that.
So here in my county, there are 3 or 4 attendants at the tag office and I always try to deal with one. She's the most helpful. At the other end of the spectrum, there's the moron who titled this truck. When I took her the SF97 and the County...
No. The current harness on the Jeep is homemade and horrendous. It has wire nuts, I kid you not. The following picture is how the taillight harness was pigtailed with the trailer connector:
Yes, that is two male bullet connectors wired together and left bare under the vehicle. So I didn't...
I would definitely do the two taillights. It's a no brainer. You can build a jumper harness to feed the additional taillight or a standalone harness to power it.
I did the passenger side tail/brake light on my GPW. Like you said, we're all slow moving vehicles on modern fast moving roadways...
That is really nice Maccus. I just cn't get over how good the sheetmetal is.
So unmolested-the mirrors are even the )completely worthless) early ones.
I can't wait to see it done.
Here are some various M44 gasser pictures I've collected from the internet. Wonder where all of them have gone?
They are different for the M44A1 and M44A2 crossmembers in the front. Rears are the same for A1 and A2.
Go into the TM and find the NSN's for what you have and do an internet search. They are available pretty inexpensively. I would never reuse them if they show any cracking or dry rot.
A1...
I just uploaded 518 images to my imgur account. This is everything I have: http://imgur.com/a/4FVyu
My friend shot all these and he worked the tent pretty much the whole time he was there so he didn't get any of the offroading action.
Also, there is a Facebook page for the event so go like...
I have a tentative approval from D-town for Oct. 19-23, 2016 but I need to get them to "firm up" on their commitment to that date.
HC video? Probably a month or so. Since we're getting this video work done at a greatly reduced rate, it won't be done quick. I'll post it the instant I have it...
Folks, we made 200 shirts and all that's left over is 1 large and 8 XXX Large's. EDIT: Large is already sold out
We sincerely appreciate all the shirt purchases-this paid for the rally's attorney's fees, insurance and other operating costs. I had gone something like $3500 in the hole out of...
I do not know of any database out there that will allow you to tie the VIN of your DUKW to any military markings. If your DUKW has been sanded or sandblasted and the original markings don't exist anymore, I'd say you're probably out of luck.
Sorry
p.s.-I'd also like to see pictures of it...
I've got to go out to Mac's and see if somehow that box ended up in the 105. I don't think it did-I loaded it and fastened the tarp down without it being in there but there's nothing to say someone didn't add it.
EDIT: I now realize you already had Mac look in it.
