Talking trucks
I had to laugh when I read the talking truck thing. Some of the trucks I picked up last winter from GL probably would be saying "oh pain and agony" after GL got done forking them over. There for awhile I didn't think I could get one without a broken transmission case - just...
There's a good chance your vac lines, vac pump, or both may be faulty. Other components in the vac system are the vac switch on the side of the injector pump and the modulator on the TH400 transmission. Use the search function it has been discussed many times in detail. Good Luck
Usually the check ball doesn't get dirty or need cleaned. The only time I have had to clean one is if the Injector Pump is failing or I suppose if the fuel line was breaking down from the filter to the IP.
The AC didn't work the compressor was missing and the system was open when I got it. I am using this one for a work truck and would use the AC mostly when stationary. I can use thewindow unit with my small generator and keep cool while not burning Diesel fuel.
I have the Injector pump off. I will be reinstalling the IP next week and then painting it. I removed what was left of the Air Cond and installed a window unit where it came out.
I'll second the AC 60g's when using the manual glow plug system. I prefer the conversion. The majority of my trucks have the glow plug card removed and the resistor bypassed.
Thank you CGarbee They seemed very helpful on the phone and said they would help with the forklift. The truck there is the 88-98 style with the lower frame and has probably been forklifted before. With your experience there are they pretty good with a forklift. I am just hoping not to get any...
I can't say for sure. I am too far away from home to go out and look. I know the spring center to center is different from the 1 ton to the lighter trucks. I am not sure if the frame itself is narrower or if the spring hangers are somehow different. Hopefully someone will chime in.
I would flush the steel lines and reuse them if they are not rusty and replace the master cylinder, hoses, calipers, and wheel cylinders. Can't be too safe where brakes are concerned.
I've never had to replace them because they were bent, but I have because of rust. You are correct on the process. I would use some good Grade 8 bolts. If you cannot find the hangers closer to you. I could round up a good used set.
Thanks for the reply. I have my PIF invoice for the M1010. I also got the PIF invoice for the K3500 Crew Cab today. If you would check and let me know that would be great.
