I have a Pibbs that was O/Hed in 2009 by VSE. It has fiberglass sides, aluminum bows, 2 cargo covers and dual air lines in Utah. What are you looking to pay?
Something you should know about the aux. fuel source connections on most(if not all) MEP sets. The generator is always running off of the "day tank" or the on board fuel tank. The aux. fuel connection is used to maintain fuel in the day tank. This is so the aux. fuel source can be "Hot Fueled"...
Try to disconnect the linkage and use a wrench to attempt to shift it into 2wd. If you can it is a linkage adjustment problem. Also attempt to verify it will go into Low range and Neutral too.
In Utah ANYTHING that is not already on a Utah title requires a VIN inspection. Here it can be done at the DMV, by any Law Enforcement, or by a licensed state safety inspector. So here it is easy and nut unusual. I have had 9-10 former MVs done with "0" trouble.
Sounds like your transfer case is actually in 4hi and not 2wd. Unlock your hubs and go under and see if you can turn the front driveshaft by hand. If not you are in 4wd.
Those were sold through GL from BAE. They had 6 I think that were set up for Saudi but didn't go. They were fully labeled in Arabic too. There have been a hand full of the A2s sold as scrap only but nothing complete. It will be years before they come out without being demilled as scrap.
I had the same thing happen to me on an 85-100 laundry trailer. I was out bid only to see it back 2 weeks later. I got told is was listed wrong, whatever that means. The next time it sold for double the first time. I guess that's one way to get the price up.
If you source the engine from an A2 just get everything. T/C, eng and trans mounts, trans to transfer driveshaft and anything that is changed to the A2. Seems like a lot of work. Why not just buy an A2 truck? You can compare it all in the parts T/Ms to make the list of parts needed.
