you can use a wood dowel to see if it is moving, but freeing it will require knowing the HH more intimately. remove the shutoff cover and line up the red tooth with the pointer. that is the low position of the cam.
you should be VERY concerned about torque, unless you don't care about doing it over in a couple of weeks. also you should learn how to use an injector tester (unless you do know) the hand pump you are using should be used with vigor, (and with the proper fuel) and the injector being tested...
HH plunger stuck in the up position. Quill shaft sheared off. HH plunger worn out (yes it can go from running to not just like that). Show it a can of starting fluid and see if it stays running or not, that will say a lot.
Were you running this without the govenor linkage fully clipped togeather? The only way to shut the engine off is to pull the fuel control rod to the rear which lowers the fuel control block on the HH piston. You need to take the control shaft out and be sure the little end piece is in the end...
DUG is right, but I don't even use glue. Clean everything with brake cleaner so there is NO grease. It has to be spotless! then it is really pretty easy to keep it in the groove and put on the clamp.
If you are in the proper area of the US, there may still be PTOs. The spicer trans was widely used on GMC single axle dumps for years. Maybe 1955 to 1965??
clogged filters would result in drasticly lower egt since there would be less fuel. it is just not a good idea to mix fuel and oils etc. there must be more to the story than you are telling us. has the HH been removed and replaced?
Wait, you are not going to tell us HIS name out of respect?? I don't get it, what respect? Give us his name and everything else as long as it is true. You may save someone else the same misery! There are many other trucks for sale, so if this one was grossly misrepresented, sue the pants off the...
First, did you see it before you paid for it?? That is pretty important. Someone once taught me to treat things like everyone lies. Still condition is really everything, they are all the same regardless of year. Did it come with a title?? Tell us you did not buy a truck without a title. Even so...
so the PO has had this truck since it was new? how else would he 'know' that? by now the truck could be anything! mine is a 1967, but was built with all new parts in 2006, so what year is it?
important things to look for: year on the axle data tags, year on the engine data plate. then after...
is it really worth learning that you need 2 people to safely use the winch, by destroying the radiator, or would a little reading be in order? I hope you don't think the engage/disengage handle on the winch is to be used while winching!!
