OK, I have been curious about this one for a while, and didn't find it on my searches so far.
How many amps does the alt put out on the MEP 002 ?
I know it charges the batteries, but I couldn't find the amperage output.
Seems like it could be used to charge a truck via slave cable, or a battery...
This year's route will be a nice run around some of the back roads around here. We would cross over very short sections of the route we had on the first convoy.
Once we have the rest stops, etc. planned in, we will put the route up for all to see.
Hmm, yeah, huh Aaron?
Well, we ALMOST pre-ran the route today.
First time for Aaron, we had to slave start his deuce.
After a BIT of driving, we stopped for some chow, and when we got back in to continue on, NO START! Had to push it back a few feet to get the m1009 close enough to slave start...
The sub-5 micron stuff is what wears out parts in your injection pumps and injectors.
Basically, it doesn't plug anything up, it just acts as an abrasive.
Personally, I doubt that many people will actually put enough miles on their MF engines to truly see this wear on the IP and injectors.
How much power did you loose with those larger tires?
And what kind of mileage did you end up with with them as well?
I would like to setup one of my trucks with either those tires, or the stock tires off of a M920 (should be the same diameter)
Ah, now I get your drift.
I read it easily enough, but I guess that by saying it was a 'great' description, it should have been easier to read in layman's terms.
To which, you are correct.
But it is a technical description, and not meant for easy reading. Ah well, I don't want to re-write the...
Ok, as I quickly read that, I understood it as only 5% of the fuel was atomized from the injection event itself.
All remaining fuel is atomized by the swirling air over the 'pool' of fuel in the piston chamber.
I read it as saying that the 5% being atomized from the injection event is used to...
You should be running at least 50% of the rated load.
So, that would mean running 60kw load!
Too little of a load will wet stack.
Search for it on google, or under our own aux equip forum.
I took mine off. Shaft was bent, and I haven't found a replacement yet.
I WILL replace mine, when I can find a suitable replacement.
Until then, I just made a bypass pipe and run it.

I haven't finished the bracket yet, but that setup works great so far!
I have seen the LDT engine in a genset, but I think it was a 120kw unit.
I wouldn't try it unless I had TWO of them. As stated, they are backup power, and I want/NEED that to be reliable.
When I drove a double tanker setup (hauled milk, so smooth bore), the total combo was around 85' long.
It's amazing how well doubles like that can track though.
Yeah, that was what I was alluding to in my previous statement.
They just don't look like they have the beef to really pull a second trailer of the same size (which is what I was after.)
How many baffles do those fuel tanks have?
Also curious to see how you coupled them.
Seems there are very few military trailers designed to be doubles. And even those are only to carry the little trailer behind it.
I have actually removed the selector switch on the floorboard. I run the line straight from the tank to the filter.
The pickup tube is brand new, the tank is new (thanks to uncle sam's rebuild).
I even took the primer out of the system to check and see what it's effect is on the leaking.
I WILL...
