What I like about those gear ratios is that you can do 54 mph at redline in 4th gear. That should really help have decent speeds on the hills if need be.
Can't wait to see how this one turns out...
Just be glad we ran the convoy BEFORE we put that stuff in the 818's tank!
I think I would have been moved to the BACK of that line ASAP if I was smoking that bad! ;)
Trailers are great for collecting WMO though. Keeps the mess out of the truck, and lets you unhook from it and go play without...
Well, Seeing as it is still sitting the trailer, Aaron can always walk out and take a picture!
Well, if/when he is home when it is light enough out to take pictures.
And no problem Jesse, glad that truck went to someone who was really going to use it.
I didn't take a single picture.
I DID look over almost everything there though ;)
As for work, I am back to driving tow trucks again. But this time I drive the small, medium, and LARGE stuff ;)
And we do a LOT of driving.
Ah, what is a few extra miles huh?
I almost average 2k miles a week. Nothing like the OTR guys though.
Still, always a pleasure to help out, plus is doesn't hurt to see what might be coming up at GL soon (or maybe it DOES hurt? ;) )
Scott, you need to fab up a frame mounted snack tray.
You know, all that time spent as an ostrich hiding your head under the deuce, you might as well enjoy a snack while you are there!
Funny chapter huh? ;)
Like how I smoked out the movie set and they had to wait for the smoke to clear to continue shooting? And this was a cheap, low budget B movie, and even THEY waited!
Still, ran great in the deuces, so no complaints on the free fuel! I should have just refrained from putting...
Not sure if the little genset will power it.
If it isn't slave cable powered, then is it the gas fired engine driven pump?
To be perfectly honest, they are kind of a PITA to get primed the first time with WMO. And they are NOT a good pump for smaller amounts (like a 55 gallon barrel). But if...
$60! Grab it, or grab it and I will pay you for it.
BUT, get the hoses that work with it. Remember those big non collapsable hoses I got my last trip to Brad's?
Those pumps are INSANE when they are pumping something thin like water/fuel. I pumped out a couple thousand gallons of water in a VERY...
3 Days on ONE injector!
Maybe you were having more refreshments then spending time wrenching!
Not sure on my schedule yet, but I will see if I can make this one.
Danielle might be able to bring the M1009 this time if we can get the transmission rebuilt in time.
Well, I REALLY would like to bring a M920, but I doubt I will have the cash in time (never know, I bought the 818 and got it home only 2 weeks before making the first trip up.... )
What a lot of people don't realize is that the heated mirrors will also keep your mirrors DRY when it raining a lot. Sure makes backing big trailers up a LOT easier when it raining!
Dualing out the 105 will actually make you over width.
The 200 frame is far stronger, and heavier, then the 105 frame. Not sure if you are going to be worried about the weight though.
Thinking a little about this, if you put the 105 bed on the 200 frame, you will have a fairly large area between...
Funny, I was going to make a post about this one. I noticed that the manual only says to remove the rear shaft, and not the front.
As for weight on the front axle, it isn't too much different then just sitting on the ground, the rear is supported by the tow truck. And using rope, the seat belt...
Can you take pictures of that?
I have heard this a couple times, but haven't seen the pictures yet.
NICE truck!
The double OD auto sure must make that an easy truck to drive.
Of course you definitely got the 'odd man out' version of the M916s. Not many of those seem to be around, let alone...
While it is fairly easy enough to screw in that screw, it really sucks when the engine 'just shuts down' on you without warning. Argh.
I have had that solenoid burn out TWICE on me so far.
And I no longer HAVE the manual/emergency shut down valve because it's rod was bent and was leaking.
