I'm more concerned with jackasses standing around the fire downing moonshine with one hand and finger-fiddling or twirling a firearm with the other than I am with the possibility of unmaintained trucks on the trail. For the most part this group takes care of their vehicles fairly well. I think...
I just don't get these guys that refuse to get titles for their vehicles. You have the SF97, get the darned title! I've gotten titles through, AK, MI, GA, and KS. It's always been easy and relatively inexpensive. Very little work was involved. For the seller in the OPs story it'd likely cost...
I've got a 12v alternator, separate battery, and a electric 12v trailer controller. Not the easiest way, but it's the most versatile. I use the 12v for all my accessory lights and 12v auto accessory plugs. Leaves my 24v original and fresh for starting.
Those land trains weren't built for the ALCAN, they were built to resupply the DEW line. I tried to get up close to the LCC-1 (1st photo), it was in a scrap yard out the back gate of Ft Wainwright, but the yard was sold and liquidated before I could track down an owner. Fortunately I just read...
98G, you're not missing anything. Try offering to pay for the title if he does the legwork. That would be cheaper than walking away. If the title wasn't part of the original sales agreement then you should cover it anyway. I walk away from vehicles without titles, or sellers that try to say...
I've got one of the harbor freight specials in the rear of my deuce and it's THE most useful mod on my truck. I replaced the standard HF deathtrap hand winch with an automatic fwd/rev brake Northern Tool hand winch. I load and unload everything myself, I don't know what I'd do without a bed crane.
This thread is inspirational. I still want to install a warn 18k on the rear of my deuce. I just haven't found one for the right price, and I'm even open to 12v since I have a dual voltage system.
Wow! That's fantastic!
However, you overlooked a critical aspect that might make your work more popular. The four terrorists should instead be four corpses laying in the street.
Parachutes are not waterproof but they are tear resistant. I used a chute to cover my truck in Alaska to make snow removal faster. I could just pull the chute off in the morning and all the snow came with it. That was dry snow that wouldn't freeze to vehicles. When it got warmer and the snow was...
Without replies in the want ads, I think we would miss out on sources and tips on finding parts. I know I have benefitted from replies to someone else's search for parts.
M1101/02 trailers are not being phased out. We just have too many. As we deactivate BCTs and deactivate functional brigades we only move some of the personnel authorizations to other BCTs and overall the number of personnel goes down. Personnel are tied to vehicles, and vehicles are tied to...
