    Department of Defense Control Coming

Bikeman, that's the Italian DoD doing the inspections. They probably don't need our help policing their population.

So, what's the one thing you'd change?

I would combine some of the armor/tracked vehicle forums and start a boat forum and a railroad forum.:) I love me some tracked vehicles and I dig Strykers maybe a little more than the next guy, but nobody owns a Stryker, Bradley or M1. I have always been mystified why Bradleys are not combined...

How many rattle cans for 3 color camo?

What kind of truck? Is it your bobbed deuce?

    M1102 trailer behind a 5 ton?

Backing up with an 1102 behind my deuce on rough terrain made me feel like a fool. It does indeed turn before you can see it, and it turns FAST, especially when empty. But it pulled great. I couldn't feel it and could barely see it. Seems like it would ride really high in the front hitched to...

Jeep Show in Aiken, SC 12JUL2014

It's not a MV specific show but I assume there will be plenty of military Jeeps attending. I'm going to flat tow my M38 behind my wife's silver '14 Rubicon on over to Aiken. Anyone else coming or have any insight to this event...

    Project time again - quickie

Any time a Jeep gets a new lease on life it's worth telling the story or showing the work in my opinion. Keep it up Zout.

Deuce vs 5 ton buying advice

I had a M813 5 ton and then a deuce, I prefer the deuce. While the 5 ton power steering was nice the slightly smaller size of the deuce worked better for me. They had comparable top speeds but the deuce seemed a little more nimble. Of course in a perfect world I'd recommend you get both! They're...

    should i buy a 2.5 or 5 ton truck?

Only in this crowd would a Deuce be considered a medium-duty work truck. :)

    1952 M135 W/Winch

That's a fine looking M135. I always loved the look of those 211/135 trucks.

New Deuce is here. Parts Bonanza Too!

Those last three adjustable rods look like the rods for the ends of your drop side cargo bed. They hook into a slot in the floor, then into a fitting toward the top of the bed sides.. They'll keep your dropsides from moving when the tailgate is down and will make it easier to secure the tailgate.

    Serial number info, truck history??

Look on the outside drivers side front frame, probably just forward of the wheel. It should be stamped in that area. Might be covered in paint, just sand lightly until you see it.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Fantastic idea. I almost bit it a few times when my foot slipped off that support bracket on my M813. It's a long way down especially if you're going head first.

    My 1943 Willys MB

Great looking MB. Nice work 32r2! I'm with you bikeman. I love my M38 but the history of MB appeals to me. I manage to keep my addiction to green iron and to Jeeps in check, but the addiction to green Jeeps is very difficult to control.

    Normandy France June 6, 2014 70th Anniversary

Iski, Thanks for posting that. Great write up about LCI crews and some of the men they delivered to the beach. I assume that contains details from your father's interview? Is he or his ship mentioned by name?

Taking home a KraZ 214b - need some help finding front axle shafts

Didn't we have a member in Greece awhile back that was into soviet trucks? Seems like I remember him pulling some good Kraz stuff out of a scrapyard.

    Picking up my M818

The cold start switch is separate from the ignition switch. It's a simple wire coming off one of the batteries. It goes out to a glow plug in the air intake. That's all there is to the cold start system. Mine was cut on my M813 when I bought it from GL. I don't recall any other 12v on 809...

My New to Me WC63 Comming Home.......

Great looking WC. So what's the story of the bullet holes? The rest of the truck looks great so I assume it wasn't a derelict hulk out in a field serving as a target for bubba, and I just can't picture a WC63 rolling through the bad part of town catching some stray rounds.

    Arctic bed heater

Very unusual. That makes your deuce unique. The only place I've ever seen one of those was on some old deuces in Alaska. I don't think you'll need that in SC, but it's neat anyway.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Between the last two weekends and a couple days this week I finally installed my cab reinforcement plate. I also reinstalled my batteries, installed a new solargizer, installed a bed cover hook, modified and installed a another antenna mount, and started the deuce for the first time since...
