    Evil ip

That's a possibility. Any seal on the pump could be failing.

I was there on Friday morning with a winch and a snatchblock and what not, they are now back in PA. Sorry.

    Evil ip

Ian, On my M1010 it didn't cause any external leaks. Just timing issues- debris in the check valve. I am going to change the pump on mine soon. I guess alcohol in fuels - that cause retainers to break down could start to work on external seals. You must have a 1985 or older truck.

    Need M880 key number!!

I guess I got lucky with my Dodge my ignition lock was in the lock position, but the steering and gearshift was not locked. A freind with a M886 gave me a key for it when I got it home.

    M1031 driveshaft length?

I think all the NP205 transfer cases had the side cover for the PTO. I don't think his has the PTO. It has the gasoline generator.

    M1031 driveshaft length?

Mark3395 - I'm thinking if you are talking about the truck you just got it has the turbo 400 transmission and the NP205 transfer case. In this case your NP205 doesn't have the PTO box on the side. That should not make any difference in the rear driveshaft length anyway. The NP208 is aluminum...

Thanks for the info. I'll have to check the numbers/logo out when I get to see it in person.

    General Engine Products LLC

Is it a safe bet if a GM style (6.2/6.5) v-8 diesel has a General Engine Products LLC sticker on the valve cover that it would be a 6.5 ? Did GEP ever produce the 6.2 ? The engine is not here yet. Just wondering what I got. Thank You

    How much fuel?

That sounds normal to me = Not very much fuel comes from the Injector pump return. The combination of the IP return and the 8 injector returns adds up to a pretty heavy return to the tank = The small amount of fuel from the line in question, and the small amount of fuel from each injector =...

    How much fuel?

That sounds normal to me. It doesn't spray out on any that I have worked on. The combination of the IP return and the 8 injector returns adds up to a pretty heavy return to the tank, but each one by itself doesn't seem like much.

That would be a cool picture to see.

    CUCV starting problem

You are getting air in the system. Possibilities are cracked fuel filter base, or a loose clamp on a fuel line, or a rotten/cracked fuel line. I have seen trucks that almost wouldn't start unless the nose was down. On the level or nose up makes the fuel filter the high point in the system -...

    power loss slowly on m1009

Its the chevy pattern, but I would try to make the diesel work. I would check the return line to the tank. If it was blocked it would cause problems like the return check valve. Is the volume and fuel pressure ok to the injector pump ?

    Exploding M1009 spare

I have a M1010 that has been sitting for a while and the front tire started to come apart at the top where the sun hits it. The rest of the tire looks good and the other three look good. I have seen others that look down right scary and didn't blow. Must have been its time. Glad your windows...

    power loss slowly on m1009

If you have good fuel without any air to the injector pump, I would check the Injector Pump return line check valve. It is located on top of the Injector pump and has a rubber line with a clamp. Remove the rubber hose, unscrew the check valve. Look up inside the check valve. The check ball is...

Need info on m1028 engine setup

I bid on a truck on GL a few weeks ago that had that set up. GL listed it as an 1986 but the VIN is for an MY 1987.

Need info on m1028 engine setup

Setup is similar to the M1010 Ambulance. The AC in the cab is neat. Not all M1028 are like that. I think there are very few like that.
