I took the truck for her first ride in 6 years. She upshifted just fine but downshifting to 4th would result in grinding. I can downshift to 3rd when she slows down enough. Again, upshifting is fine, oil levels good. Any ideas? BTW, transfer case was in high.
there is a black connector where the spark plug wires go in. Take the connector out and clean the copper connections inside. mine was corroded there as well. clean and re-set the gap and you should be good to go. Be sure to re-set the timing. Bill Watson's website has a great step by step...

I went with 2 8D batteries versus the standard 4 for the M818. I did a slight modification to the battery box. Cut off the 2 center knubs. I welded up these hold down brackets. You can use the standard hold down bolts as well.
