Not to discourage you from asking questions, but also consider reviewing the tech manuals. Winter is a great time to flip through them.

For the M998, focus on the manuals ending in...
I am rapidly learning that there is a lot of shadiness inherent in our hobby.
- Transportation fraud (extorting more money to release a vehicle, damaging a vehicle, stealing a vehicle)
- Wire fraud (Vendors accepting money by electronic means but failing to ever deliver a product or shipping...
LOL...I'd really like @Jtalbot to come back and say that he was able to break 'em loose.
I know I'm going to be doing this job myself and his story is kind of freaking me out!
No worries. I know the SOP around here is to tell everyone to use the search engine to avoid creating hundreds of near-identical threads but people should understand that the search engine isn't flawless and not get cranky when someone asks a common question. (Not saying that you were cranky)
Having worked with similar organizations who have faced similar judgements, what will more likely happen is that eventually the insurance company will pay out after the appeals (as you stated) and then the insurance company will dump them. Other insurance companies will also likely refuse to...
Beggin' your pardon, but the search feature on the new forum software needs some adjusting. I very frequently have my searches interfered with by the software because it deletes words that it determines are "too short or too common."
For example, when attempting to search for the DIY PVC turn...
@Russ Knight
Also- it makes no difference if you have the crappy, plastic wiper motor or the better, metal-bodied motor. The shaft is the same and these parts work fine with both of them.
What you say makes sense except that the holes seem to be rather randomly placed. They are definitely crudely torn and jagged edged.
In any case, I expect the inspector to make noise about them, so I need to clean them up and plug them for the inspection. I can always remove the plugs later.

I agree with @porkysplace. I think your truck is an '81 but the paperwork for your title got fudged up somehow.
But, Wes is also correct in that a part manufactured or refurb'd in a particular year might sit on the shelf for a decade before being installed.
A prime example is my "new" transfer...
@Russ Knight
Russ, I didn't do J-hook but I did swap out to Anco 41-01 wiper arms with Trico 33-122 "Classic" wiper blades. The Anco 41-01 is metal and adjustable in length to help get the "sweep" that you desire.
It's Plug 'n Play. No cutting or modifications needed. You don't need the...
@Fanjan Hmmm... on the wiring diagram, there are some wiring harness sockets/plugs with a "J" but the "J" wire always translates into a numbered wire further down the line. I cannot find an unused pigtail labeled "J."
On an M816, I'm finding some unused "W" pigtails. What kind of truck do you...
I'd pay $50 for the right tool. More than that and I'll solder or find another method of crimping them.
I'm getting better at separating nasty old connectors without destroying them. ;)
@AZORRAT Ain't you got a closure/anti-escape for that hook? The chain looked like it was barely hanging on.
Very cool to see an M-816 at work. :) Do you get a lot of business?
@Bulldogger Roger, thanks for that.
- Well, I got under the truck and mic'd the discs and pads and they are all well within spec of the TM.
- The new turn signal flasher module arrived yesterday and that fixed the intermittent turn signals, now ALL lights work properly, 100% of the time.
