you can see from the picture of my steering box how far back it goes, but until you actually put one on you will not know for sure. go find one and see. if you don't use it i am sure some one else here will buy it from you.

you are getting into completely 'uncharted waters' and an area where running on the road may be unsafe, there may be solutions, but i won't reccomend any of them
the template, as crude as it is, is very simple. you don't even have to have it, just measure from the rear edge of the fender...
yes, 1975 to about 1990 S series international part number is cast on the back side of the box, 7830389
get yours yourself and save $$ plus no shipping.

thats good, but for their prices i can make them myself. needs #8 return and #12 suction. gm astro van seems best bet so far, at least they are cheap. i am trying to keep the costs down while having availability of parts.

the best thing i have found is from a chevy van, but then i have to cut it apart and just use the top and bottom caps with 3" tubing. but it has a propper cap with dipstick and vent. there should be something from some other truck that has a remote tank for steering fluid.
i may be about a week...
got new pitman arms today since it is problematic to get used ones that still have a good spline.
found tie rod ends for the drag link so it can be made without welding.
will make the lines on monday. pressure and return are custom, the suction is just 3/4" hose.
have not found any tank for the...
the steering column is custom with horn contact for original horn button. 5 ton parts are just too big, you could use your pump and that's about it. you do have to cut the rad shroud, but pump clears rad by a good margin.
sumner, i can sell you as much or as little as you want for the column.

todays progress:
picture of 710 box
mount at firewall
new column installed, you can see the horn wire hanging down from the contact cover just below dash
pressure line and hose to connect to 5 ton pump
modded pitman arm (stamped off road only)
ok, here is a teaser. i figure if i am doing it i will make it fit well and look like it was factory.
parts used to make column
column and wheel assymbled
lower end of column
lower shaft, i have 2 different models, both do the same thing

given the stiff suspension i doubt it is a significant factor, however my drag link parallels the spring making it a non issue. offroad you probably would not ever be going fast enough anyway!
m16ty started another thread about this, can we get the mods to put all these threads about steering under one main header? ALL the parts are available, the limiting factor is only money and can you drill holes? i have a hyd kit that is the same or less money than the air assist. a complete...
ok, the week is almost over and this is what i have found. i could fabricate and sell a kit for hyd power steering for near $1700. i could also just sell the hard to find parts, what ever they are! what does the air assist cost now? the real question is how many would really do it, not just...
anyone in maryland want PS? i need a truck to install kit onto to make sure everything fits before going into production. (which will almost be on a as sold basis, but i have most of the parts in stock now)
