To be honest I was a little nervous about the idea of trading trucks. I've been through mine bumper to bumper and top to bottom, inside and out. I know what it needs and how to do the work. Can't say I am as knowledgeable about diesels though. I do know they can be expensive to fix, and the...
Not chalky at all, might have a little dust on it from sitting outside though. Well, I appreciate the input guys. If I stay with this color then I can always go with this type of camo job, a Canadian M135. I agree, a Desert Sand M211 would be sweet too. Now my head is spinning again. Thanks.
First I used a wire brush to remove any loose paint chips. This works okay but I noticed it does not get all of the chips off. A paint scraper ended up working better on the flat surfaces. Then I powerwashed it all to remove any contaminants, sprayed with Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer, let it...
He's a pretty good guy, and I agree the prices are high compared to other trucks that sell for less. But I also look at it from his point of view. He buys these trucks with the intention of reselling them at a higher price to make money. We all like money and want to make money, that's...
My M1 is a CMP Rifle and is therefore not import marked, Feb1944 receiver and 1953 barrel with early 50's Korean ear GI wood. IH front sight, maxnefluxed poppet valve and most other parts are SA manufacture as well. Not worth much over $700. I only paid $467 for it though, still in the cosmoline...
I sat in it personally and aside from a birds nest ontop of the half rotted soft top, it's a very clean truck. Wonder what the old Gasser 5 ton dumps got to the gallon? Or were they gallons to the mile?
I found this 5 ton Gasser here in town several months ago. I took pictures and spoke with the owner of the lot, he was asking $3500 for it but knowing ol Jim I bet he would take less if offered cash. He said it ran and drove great and has been parked 4 years, has spare carburetor for it. Tires...
We'll see what happens on Monday. I am stoaked! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my M211. But a Multifuel of my own has always been the holy grail, THE unobtainable for me. I have a habit of under cutting myself so this time I will make sure that for the amount I have to trade I get a really nice...
Well! On Monday lucky little old me is going to be inspecting a bunch of M35's. The owner of this lot may be trading trucks with me after some talking on the phone. My M211 plus my M1 Garand rifle for a single running Multifuel in driving condition.
It is going to be TOUGH picking just 1 truck...
Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures, it's the best I could do for now. Had to have my brother take some using his Blackberry. As you can see it's cleaning up to be a sweet and very straight truck. Next I need to do the timing chain, valve seals, rebuilt oil pump and clean pickup screen...
Well I looked through all 6 parts and could not find anything on adjusting the Hydramatic. Any info I have on this is in my original paper back 600 page manual and it's not much help over the internet without the diagrams to show which parts are which. As Mr.John Wayne said above, check the...
TM means Technical Manual. The TM's are found at the top of the page under the "Resources" section. It's best to right click on the manual you want to open then click "save as" instead of viewing them online...which never seems to work for me or anybody else.
And I know where you can get a complete soft top with tie down ropes for $200.
I know, I am buttering you up like a Sunday biscuit...
Keep in touch
Tom
I can wait however long you need me to. :D Funds are tight right now and I have no idea what you'd be asking for it. As far as parts for your M211, if you ever need any let me know. Since my M211 is not 100% original and never will be again there are certain parts I just don't need except "for...
Awesome deal! I agree, perfect restoration candidate as all it would need is a soft top and a regular M series cargo bed to be correct. The fact that it is still 24V is even better! If you ever decide to part with the Memphis hard top let me know! My 211 is topless :)
Yes, I have used the search button with few results. I need to know if the M35 soft tops will fit onto the early GMC deuce's. I have seen a few of them with M35 tops on them so it seems to me like a M35 soft top would fit equally well.
I received the following email back from "Vintage Wiring of Maine Inc".
Douglas style bullet : $0.30
Metal bushing: $0.40
Rubber grommet: $0.35
Male or female single shell: $1.50
Male or female double shell: $3.00
1 to 1...
