What grade stainless did you use? I guess the screws were perhaps lower in chromium content. There are different grades. Stainless I use in surgery is much less corrosion sensitive to many commercial applications.
The OP is mounting to Aluminum and Steel surfaces. There will be some corrosion...
Guys, I own an alignment tool. It gets you close enough for the computerized alignment laser machine to finish the job.
If you can get the truck close to specs AND loosen all the tie rods and pull as many shims as needed to get her close, then the centers can do their job. If you bring them a...
Your work looks great but I might consider taking things apart, grinding the Aluminum clean, putting it back together and TIG welding the seam.
Maybe not necessary but it is cheap insurance.
The cure for diesel algae is multi fold.
There are chemicals that you need to add to the diesel.
You might need to change the sock and the filters if they are currently clogged.
That means you might perhaps need to drop the fuel cell and clean it out with the sock, and then clean all the...
Yes. True. But overall dimensions are the same. I have held both up to each other given that I own civilian and military units.

One belt is certainly less tight by touch.
I guess I’ll by another set and keep these for an emergency
Alternator V-belts rattling. Don’t appear to be a matched set, although that’s what I ordered when I bought them.
I tensioned them warm with a three foot breaker bar.
I will try to post a video later to see if the video looks normal or if you guys think I need to replace the belts. Note the...
To keep your batteries more balanced, you should switch batteries back and forth meaning that the number one battery should become the number two battery and vice versa every three months.
Edit - you can also add a third motorcycle battery to be charged by the 12V circuit for use with the...
It’s not dead yet… I think it wants to go for a walk…
Just to play Devil’s advocate, water in a cylinder does not equal water in the crankshaft.
Still, not worth fixing unless it’s a GEP
If you are not interested in placing a 200 amp, consider purchasing a GM 24 V alternator, (which is easily sourced and easily rebuilt), and make custom brackets and hook it up to your unit. There is no reason that you must use stock military items.
Given that you wish to swap out a 400 amp...
